Unfortunate

One of the more unfortunate ski-trips I took was to Project X in February 2024. It all began, when the transfer from the hotel to the "lodge" took around 12hrs instead of 4 or 5. Whatever.
Snowboarding the next day was phenomenal, as was our guide. Sadly that was one of only two days we spent riding. Come the next day and huge amounts of snow in the forecast, instead of riding we had to clear the roof so it doesn't collapse, a task which it seems has been neglected for weeks.
Over the next few days the drivers went on strike (propably because they were forced to drive around in dangerous conditions, idk) and then finally two or three of four cats broke down so we still couldn't go and ride, even when the storm cleared.
Departure day was equally chaotic, many people missed their flights and had to rebook because the time management of this whole operation is simply said catastrophic.
The bright side was our guide Tato who put in alot of effort to make the most out of the situation and the whole staff of the lodge! Overall though I would not recommend booking Project X

Response from the operator: "Project X is and will remain an adventure. The location is very remote, access is very difficult (also for the snowcats), and the huts are very basic. At the same time, the area receives above-average snowfall. Since Dec. 2024, we have had an additional backup snowcat in operation, and since this season, another small cat to assist during the arrival/departure. Nevertheless, in a snowstorm, arrival or departure may take longer or may not be possible at all on the planned day. Large amounts of snow can also lead to a high avalanche risk, which may make operation impossible. For freeriders who prefer more predictable conditions, we recommend Bakhmaro."
