Where to Stay in St Anton Ski Resort
The town of St Anton (a.k.a. Sankt Anton am Arlberg) and the nearby villages of St Jakob, St Christoph and Stuben (a.k.a. Stuben am Arlberg) provide oodles of lodging options. Accommodation ranges from relatively inexpensive guesthouses & pensions to luxury ski-in ski-out hotels & apartments. Where to stay will largely be dictated largely by availability - this is an extremely popular ski destination. Budget will have a bearing as will access to après ski action, or not, as the case may be!
If seeking the full St Anton village experience, stay in the centre of town near the Galzig gondola. Several slopeside options are above town, but they book out quickly (for good reason!). Better availability & affordability is a short walk toward the Nasserein part of town. Cheaper still, but a bus ride away, is the village of St Jakob. For exclusive high-alpine ski-in ski-out lodgings with guaranteed natural snow-coverage, St Christoph is the place. Note that St Christoph also has some excellent value for money options as well. And then there is Stuben, for those wanting the quiet, authentic, small Austrian village experience far removed from St Anton, but with sensational accommodations plus outstanding ski & lift access to both the St Anton & Lech-Zurs ski slopes via the Albonabahn 1 gondola.
To get a quick sense of the village, see the St Anton village map below.
Best Sankt Anton Hotels, Apartments & Guesthouses
St Anton has retained much of its traditional roots & avoided the crass over-development in similar resorts across Europe. At an altitude a shade over 1,300m, the town is usually snow-clad throughout winter, but who knows as time goes on! The landscape above the town is blighted by unsightly electricity transmission towers, but thankfully the through traffic on the main road through the mountains between Innsbruck & Switzerland mostly stays out of the village, passing through the Arlberg Tunnel instead.
Party animals and those who want easy access to a range of restaurants and shops will simply adore St Anton. Some accommodation is ski-in ski-out whilst other lodgings in the village are just an easy walk to the lifts. There are lockers at the base of the gondola for skis, boards, and boots if you don’t want to weave through the village in the evening with your skis in tow.

On the Slopes
There is no doubt that staying directly on the lower ski slopes of St Anton is a fantastic Austrian ski experience. Getting a room at the Mooser Hotel or Schweiger will not only give you an incredible location & lodging, but also exposure to the absolute best of the world's après ski action without the need to leave afterward!

Village Centre
A multitude of hotels, apartments & guesthouses fill the compact streets of St Anton. Most are of the highest quality, and each is at most only a 5min walk to either the Galzig or Rendl gondolas. Weekend , Christmas/New Year or February prices can be exorbitant (as with most world-class ski resorts), but midweeks in January or March can be great value. Several hotels are clustered near the Galzig & Rendl gondola bases, including one of the best value in the village, Hotel Sailer. Others include Skihotel Galzig & Pepis Ski Hotel.
A short walk from the village centre past the church are numerous authentic guesthouses which provide more affordable lodgings. We have stayed in Haus Gamberg & can recommend it for its simple accommodation, but with a warm, cosy atmosphere. The cooked breakfasts are amazing & the hostess of the house is very welcoming.
Perhaps surprisingly, the village lacks many 5-star luxury hotels, but the host of deluxe 4-stars more than makes up for it. One of the few 5-stars is Raffl's St. Antoner Hof. If seeking the rock-star snow holiday experience, these are your digs! Next door is its sister 4-star, the more approachable (just) Raffl's Tyrol Hotel.

Nasserein Sector
The quieter end of St Anton, Nasserein, has exceptional access to the gondola & extensive learn-to-ski lifts & slopes. Only a short walk to the centre of the main village, Nasserein has more affordable prices but is definitely still St Anton!
Our pick is the Hotel Nassereinerhof & the 4-star Hotel Arlmont . We have stayed in the Nassereinerhof. It is a traditional 3-star hotel at the far end of town, a short walk from the Nassereinbahn gondola. It provides delicious food, a fun cellar bar with live music, plus has a sensational swimming pool that needs to be seen to be believed. The Arlmont is right next to the gondola base in the area's most prime location. Hope you can get a room there.

Best St Jakob Lodgings
The neighbouring village of St Jakob am Arlberg is just down the valley from St Anton and is connected to the ski resort by regular local buses. In fact accommodations in St Jakob are often listed as being in St Anton - so always check the map and address so you don’t get disappointed.
St Jakob features quite a few fabulous guest houses, some hotels & loads of apartments. With a distinctly 'local' vibe, St Jakob has exceptionally quick access to the ski area via the free ski bus to the Nassereinbahn gondola. Check out the options via the St Anton ski accommodation listings.
Best St Christoph Accommodations
St Christoph is a spectacularly located alpine hamlet situated at 1,770m altitude, just before Arlberg Pass, that feels more exclusive than St Anton & is certainly more sedate. But don't worry, there is still some cool après action to be had at the end of the day. It’s suited to those who want a romantic get-away in a more remote alpine setting, want quick access to/from the slopes, or just want to be from the crowds.
Accommodation at St Christoph gathers the mid-morning sun & allows easy access to an aging chairlift which connects to the rest of the St Anton resort. A lovely learn-to-ski area is opposite the village & ski slopes run right into its heart. Most of the terrain above the St Christoph is delightfully challenging off-piste directly under the chairlift, but fear not; an easy beginner trail leads back to the village from Galzig. The village may be too small for some people for anything more than a couple of days, but St Anton is only a short bus or taxi ride away, allowing for interesting after-hours action if that is what you want! The Hospiz Alm restaurant and slide-in wine cellar is worth a booking if you can get in. Don’t try and ski afterward!
Despite its exclusivity & reputation for premium prices, there are two more affordable hotels in St Christoph, perfect for anyone that’s in the region to actually ski without requiring all the luxury trimmings and fulfilling the needs of all the best powder hounds. Several wonderful 4-stars make up the balance of local lodgings. See below for recommendations of the best St Christoph lodgings.

Best Stuben-am-Arlberg Accommodation
Stuben (a.k.a. Stuben am Arlberg) may be compact, but it has several wonderful hotels, apartments & guesthouses. The village is at 1,410m altitude on the opposite side of Arlberg Pass from St Christoph & St Anton. Stuben is generally snow-clad throughout winter due it north-aspect. The village is quaint & way more low-key than its St Anton neighbour but is one of the best placed in Ski Arlberg from which to access both the St Anton, Zürs & Lech ski resorts. Access to the ski area is easy via Langen am Arlberg too.
In addition to a novice ski area & lifts on the sunny side of the valley, the old Albonabahn double chair has been replaced with a brand-new gondola since season 23/24, departing from the edge of town & providing easy linkages to some fabulous local skiing. Further gondola links to the St Anton & Zurs resorts are world-class. Stuben spends more time in the cold shade than the other villages, so be prepared for cold mornings & early evenings in mid-winter.

Stuben's best ski-in ski-out lodgings include the Wohlfühlhotel Hubertushof perched high above village & with its own lift access to the slopes! Lower down Berghaus Stuben is perfect for powder hounds. For apartments Fuxbau is excellent. See below for a list of the best Stuben lodgings.
