We revisited Laax-Flims-Falera during some hefty storms in February 2026. What stood out are several things. The first was the 'dynamically priced lift pass' that is apparently about giving the skier the best possible value price on a lift ticket. Turns out that all it provides is the highest priced lift pass in Europe. Not a great start. And then if you want to park undercover, get ready to fork out way more than at a comparable ski resort anywhere in Switzerland. And so it goes.....
Ski wise, the resort is not the best to ride in a storm, particularly not with a crowd. The ski lifts are super modern for the most part, but I would trade a heated seat gondola or six-seater chair for a dinky double and some fresh lines any day.
Laax will appeal to many as a place to be seen and ski, and if you are a park junky, a visit here is a necessity. For us though, whilst its big and beautiful on its day, Laax has lost any of its remaining soul and is no longer a place we wish to visit. That's perhaps a harsh assessment, but when a ski resort is surrounded by a host of small, authentic gems like Tschiertschen, Brigels, and Vals, we know where we would rather spend our time & money, and its not at Laax!
We will likely come back here when we are feeling less cranky about it, and when the lift pass price is reasonable (it does have cheap days!), but in the meantime read about the resort’s pros & cons via the Laax overview page.
