Established in the early 1960s, the Hotel Highlands Park oozes old world tradition. The hotel is a throwback to the old colonial days combined with old army influence and traditional Kashmiri architecture and décor.

Where is the Hotel Highlands Park?
Hotel Highlands Park is located in
Gulmarg Kashmir, perched up in a fabulous spot on a hill so you can fully appreciate the fine grandeur of Mt Apharwat. The hotel is ski-in ski-out to one of the poma runs (for intermediates), whilst the main event, the Gulmarg Gondola is about 2km down the road from the hotel. It’s about 10 minutes walk/ski to the gondola and you can walk back up to the hotel or catch a taxi. From the commonly used road entrance, it’s a bit of a walk up to the hotel rooms, but porters will carry your luggage or your snow equipment if you wish.
Hotel Rooms
Hotel Highlands Park consists of one central building and 8 separate cottage-style buildings that house the guest rooms and suites.
The hotel has 26 double rooms, some of which can be configured as a king bed or 2 single beds. All rooms are tastefully decorated, have a TV, a day bed and/or sitting area, and a refurbished bathroom with rain shower and full sized tub. Unusually for a Gulmarg hotel, the hot water works 24 hours a day.
Rooms are heated by bukharis, wood stoves that are maintained by the very professional hotel staff, whilst the bathrooms have a separate heating facility.
The hotel also has 9 luxuriously appointed suites which incorporate a full size bedroom, a separate sitting room, dressing rooms and in some cases, 2 separate bathrooms.

Dining
The dining room/restaurant at the Highlands Park is aesthetically lovely, with gorgeous old world furniture, walls adored with unique objects that reflect the Gulmarg character, and trophies from the old days when hunting was allowed.
You can have a continental breakfast or a range of cooked items.
For dinner, the lovely cuisine includes old Continental, Kashmiri and Mughlai recipes, and the kitchen has an old fashioned (clay oven) tandoor. If you’ve had your fill of Indian cuisine, you can also order a burger or sandwich.
Food is also available in the bar and via room service.
Lounge Bar
The lounge bar has been renovated whilst still retaining its charm with Khatambandh ceilings, panelled walls and walnut wood furniture, and a combination of golf posters and other relics from past British rule. One part of the bar has huge windows with perfect views of the Pir Panjal Mountains.
The lounge bar is home to the best après ski scene in Gulmarg, and is popular with non hotel and hotel guests alike. Drinks must be purchased with cash.
