Queenstown Accommodation There are literally tens of thousands of beds for rent in Queenstown New Zealand, which can make choosing the right place to stay a little arduous. When you’re spoilt for choice, at least you know you’ll be able to find a place that satisfies all your needs. In addition to the standard hotels, motels, lodges, backpackers and B&Bs, there are also farm and home-stay options.

If you need lift tickets, lessons, equipment etc, you can organise this when you arrive, or you can add other components of your Queenstown ski holiday via Kiwi Discovery who offer airport transfers, ski resort shuttles (to/from Coronet Peak, Remarkables, Cardrona & Treble Cone), bus and lift packages, or bus/lift/equipment rental packages.  

Queenstown Accommodation Locations One thing you should be aware of is that not all accommodation in Queenstown is within easy walking distance of the town. If you don’t have a car, double check the location or ascertain if they have a shuttle bus and the hours of operation. Another consideration may be if the accommodation has their own shuttle service to the mountains or if they at least have a daily transport service nearby.

Accommodation in Queenstown may be located very centrally near the CBD, or it may be in the suburbs of Queenstown. Frankton near the airport is about a 10 minute drive from the centre of town and is more of a residential area. Some of the top Queenstown hotels are situated in Fernhill, which is up the hill next to the lake. Sunshine Bay is a little further away from town past Fernhill.

Queenstown Motels Motel-style accommodation is also plentiful in Queenstown. Here is where you will generally find the greatest value. Some motels such as Blue Peaks Lodge, Bella Vista and The Four Seasons Motel are located just a short walk to the centre of town.

Apartment AccommodationSelf-contained apartments generally offer the best value for groups and families of 4 or more. One thing to be aware of is there seems to be a lack of 3 bedroom apartments in town. So if you are a larger group or family all wanting to stay under the one roof, you should book your accommodation as early as possible.

Arthurs Point Accommodation
Arthurs point is about 10 minutes drive out of Queenstown towards Coronet Peak. It is an ideal base for people wanting to ski at Coronet Peak and accommodation is definitely more economical than downtown Queenstown. A good accommodation in Arthurs Point is Canyons Lodge.

Accommodation Near The Remarkables

If you are going to spend the majority of your time skiing at The Remarkables or Cardrona, a better place to stay might be near The Remarkables. You will find a few quality properties around Frankton near the airport as well as near The Remarkables entrance road. A lovely boutique lodge is the Remarkables Mountain Lodge.
