Awesome

I have been to Aspen twice in the last couple of years and think it is an absolutely awesome ski town/resort.

I went with Ski Aspen in January 2017 (and loved it) and went again in March 2019 (and loved it again).

The best thing about Aspen is the fact that it is never ever crowded! There's been plenty of times where I have had whole trails (more like whole sides of mountains) to myself even on powder days.

Aspen is incredible and I would definitely recommend it whether you will go on your own, with your partner or with you family.

Snowmass is the giant among the other three Aspen resorts.
Impressive lift infrastructure, tons of terrain and a good variety.
Everything here is expensive, comes with the territory.

Snowmass trail map shows a 12' halfpipe, but it's more like 4' and full of ski school classes. So if you want to ride a 12' pipe head to Park City.

The ski schoolers here like to snake their group classes from one side of the run to the other creating a very hazardous situation for everyone above.

The gated terrain here is mediocre at best with most steep fall lines ending after a couple hundred vertical feet. I'm sure some local will debate me on this because they think this place is so amazing. But, having traveled and experienced many areas across the western states and Canada I can assure you there are far better choices for your vacation.

However, if you are someone with wealth who lives with an air of entitlement and would like your butt and skis polished for you; well this is the place for you. It's the perfect stop for the arrogant & wealthy.

Me and my girlfriend spent two weeks in this magnificent place in march 2014 and it surpassed all our expectations. Being Europeans we skied heaps of a great resorts in the Alps, so we did not think that US experience was going to be any better.

How wrong we were. Aspen/Snowmass is the best resort we have been to so far. There were no queuing lines, empty slopes, perfect weather and everyone was so friendly.

We cannot decide now where to go next year, whether try another resort in US or Canada, or stay in Europe or simply come back to Aspen!!!

Can't imagine topping snowmass

First actual mountain experience snowboarding. Only place I went previously was a hill called perfect north in Indiana. The views, the terrain, and the lifts blew my mind away. I went from a lower level intermediate rider to a high end intermediate rider in 5 days.

Even on the weekends, there are places that you won't find people and because the lifts are so fast, lines are no problem.

Snow wasn't the best but a week after i left they got hit with 2 feet of pow in a weekend so i'll give it 5 stars anyway.

Prices are high but it's Colorado and aspen. You definitely get your moneys worth here.

Aspen is great, snow is so dry, no crowds. Some of the best in bounds skiing in USA. The whole booking process was a breeze with friendly, helpful staff. Aspen I will be back.

Snowmass and Highlands are my pick

Skied in Aspen for an entire season and Snowmass and Highlands were definitely my pick for the best terrain for free skiing and great groomers.

Highlands offers excellent advanced terrain, including the famous highlands bowl for those willing to take a short hike. Hiking a bit further over the bowl gives some nice tree runs too! Then hit the corduroy groomers for a burn to the bottom.

Snowmass is the hill that caters for everyone. Excellent mix of terrain and plenty of it. Head to long shot when there is fresh snow for some nice easy tree runs, you can ride sheer bliss all day if the crowds aren't big and be exhausted before being bored.

Snowmass is the most reasonable accommodation and has some excellent choices for food and drinks in the night. Buttermilk has some good beginners terrain and the most amazing park in the world (probably).

Aspen mountain is generally covered in moguls if that's your thing, and certainly has the classiest apres options. The Red Onion is my pick for good beer in a cute pub after skiing.

A visit to Aspen convinced me I needed to move out west to a ski town but it also convinced me not to move to Aspen. The skiing is great and the variety of terrain offered is great whether you're advanced or a beginner, between the steep slopes, trees and bowls on Ajax and the Highlands, to the park at Buttermilk, to the family friendly Snowmass side.

Aspen is a party town and the town offers a shuttle for the late nights you'll undoubtedly have there, which is good because as usual in a ski town taxis are often expensive if you can find one at all. Everything is expensive in Aspen but if you have enough $ you can get whatever you need.

Crowded weekends and around the holidays and school vacas, but not as crowded as you might think mid week or mid season. Definitely a great town and fun to visit and shred but a little too fancy for my tastes.
