Airport to Ski Resort Transfers - Italy
Private transfers offer the single most convenient & efficient mode of travel to most ski resorts in Italy (there are always exceptions to any rule!). Convenience does come at a cost, but if travelling in a group, the cost per person can be better than public transport (train-bus). Shared shuttles are also available to some popular ski areas. They offer great value but do generally have a more limited departure schedule.
All Italian ski resorts can be accessed via Milan Malpensa (MXP) airport, or one of the other nearby airports [Milan Linate (LIN), and Milan Bergamo (BGY]. Milan Malpensa is the most extensive and connected of the three airports near the city of Milan, and best for international travellers. MXP airport can also provide a convenient starting point to ski areas across southern Switzerland like Andermatt, St Moritz plus resorts in the Valais around Brig.
Venice (VCE) airport is quicker if heading to the Dolomites, but flights can be more limited than to Milan.
The airport at Turin (TRN) is good for travellers from within Europe or the UK to access the Aosta Valley or Via Lattea in Italy, plus Chamonix, the southern French Alps (Serre Chevalier et al) or the Maurienne valley (Bonneval sur Arc et al) in France.
The Dolomites can also be easily accessed for travellers from Europe or UK via Innsbruck (INN) airport in Austria, or further afield Munich (MUC) is quite close to the Dolomites for intercontinental travellers.
