Lodging & Meals

You will be staying in comfortable hostels in Christchurch (1 night pre-tour), Tekapo (1 night), Wanaka (2 nights) and Queenstown (3 nights). These are in towns or city centre, with easy access to restaurants and other amenities. There is also the option to add-on another night in Queenstown at the end of the trip.

Breakfast is not included. The group can stop at cafes on the way to the ski fields each day.

Your guide will organise restaurant bookings each night for the group or if you wish to do your own thing, that's fine too.

Ability Level

This hosted trip is suited to beginners through to advanced skiers and snowboarders.

Equipment

If you don't have your own ski or snowboard equipment, your guide will take you to a rental shop in Christchurch and you can keep the gear for the trip duration before they're returned to Christchurch.

Itinerary

The tour starts in Christchurch and finishes in Queenstown, or you can add-on a transfer back from Queenstown to Christchurch.

Arrival Day

The group will meet on Sunday night in Christchurch for your included welcome dinner and drink. Your tour leader will go over the schedule at dinner and what to expect for the awesome adventure ahead!

Day 1 - Mt Hutt

  • Mt Hutt is the local ski field of your host, so he knows it like the back of his hand.
  • It was easily the most consistent for snow fall last season, receiving a total of 320cm of powder and boasts amazing views out to Christchurch, the Canterbury Plains and Pacific Ocean.
  • If you need a lesson to refresh your skills, their instructors are truly world class.
  • Your host will drive you to the town of Tekapo to check into the hotel.

Day 2 - Ohau

  • Deep in the interior sits Ohau Snow Field. In 2023 Ohau was stoked to welcome a 1 metre snow storm! With a super relaxed club field vibe, awesome home cooked kai and great terrain, there’s something for everyone.
  • If conditions are right, hike up and slash some pow on the epic ‘Ridge Run’.
  • The host will drive you to the town of Wanaka where you'll stay for the next 2 nights.

Day 3 - Treble Cone

  • A beautiful drive today which will take you around Lake Wanaka before heading past some beautiful peaks to Treble Cone.
  • Treble Cone is well known for its gnarly off piste terrain, attracting many free skiers and riders. For the beginners and more relaxed skiers and riders, there are cruisy runs too!
  • You may have to pinch yourself looking out to the vast mountain vistas and Lake Wanaka. It is a stunning location!
  • Stay in Wanaka.

Day 4 - Cardrona

  • On Thursday, take in the stunning golden hills as you head up the Cardrona Valley to ski field number three.
  • Known by the locals as ‘Cardies’, Cardrona has recently become NZ’s biggest ski area with a whopping 600+ hectares of ridable terrain! Cardrona is also the most comprehensive field on our trip, boasting eight chair lifts, world class park runs and awesome riding on and off piste.
  • On the way to Queenstown, the group will stop for a mandatory drink at the world famous Cardrona Hotel.

Day 5 - Free Day Queenstown

  • Welcome to the adventure capital of the world! Whether you are looking for a chill day in the city, a trip to beautiful Milford Sound or one of the many other day tours, you wont be short of ideas!
  • Stay in Queenstown

Day 6 - The Remarkables

  • The detail is in the name, these mountains are simply remarkable! Some of the best views of the entire tour are seen driving the access road. The ski field itself has steep and jagged terrain providing many chutes for the advanced riders and mellow bowls for the beginner and intermediate riders.
  • Stay in Queenstown

Day 7 - Coronet Peak

Just 20 minutes from Queenstown, Coronet Peak is the locals mountain playground, famous for its thrilling, spectacular "roller coaster" terrain. Whether you're a first-timer or a seasoned pro, it’s diverse 280 hectares of treeless, open slopes offer endless excitement with a mix of wide, groomed runs, challenging gullies, natural rollers, and impressive back bowls.

You can organise a transfer to the Queenstown airport that day or have the option to stay another night in Queenstown and transfer the next day. Or you can add-on a transfer back to Christchurch.

If a ski field is closed due to weather factors, a nearby alternative will be sourced, yet if weather has also impacted that ski field, guests will be refunded the portion related to that day and an alternative activity sourced.
