The Argentina Snow Adventure tour quickly takes you from your daily grind into a world of fun out of bounds and off-piste & backcountry skiing at ski resorts situated on beautiful, glacier cut lakes, surrounded by national parks and mystical snow peaks.

Terrain & Ability

This trip is a guided lift-assisted off-piste plus backcountry ski touring tour with certified bilingual guides.

To join this tour you should have a high level of fitness and be able to ride very confidently and in control on varied terrain (including steep chutes) and snow conditions (including powder and ice/crud). It is for advanced and expert skiers and boarders only.

Itinerary

Starts & Ends: San Carlos De Bariloche, Argentina (airport code BRC)

Day 1 (Transfer Bariloche Airport to Villa La Angostura):

  • Fly into Bariloche
  • Meet PowderQuest ski guides and group at the airport at 5:45pm
  • Drive past Patagonia’s famous Nahuel Huapi Lake to the town of Villa Angostura
  • Check in at our downtown hotel
  • Group meet-and-greet fireside chat
  • Welcome dinner at favorite locally owned Villa Angostura restaurant

Day 2 (Off-Piste & Backcountry Touring at Cerro Bayo):

  • Group breakfast at the hotel
  • Drive to Cerro Bayo resort
  • Ski Cerro Bayo: Off-Piste exploring and backcountry touring
  • Post ski: Explore the village of Villa La Angostura
  • Authentic Argentine group dinner in town 

Day 3 (Ski Cerro Bayo & transfer to Bariloche):

  • Group breakfast
  • More exploring at Cerro Bayo
  • Pack up and check out
  • Drive Nahuel Huappi National Park passing glacier cut lakes, old growth trees and snow capped peaks
  • Arrive to Bariloche Check-in to hotel
  • Group dinner in select downtown restaurant 

Day 4 (Off-Piste & BC out of Cerro Catedral):

  • Group breakfast
  • Drive to Catedral
  • Guide lead extensive backcountry adventures
  • Return to town Group dinner in Bariloche
  • Night owls venture out to local bars and craft brew pubs

Day 5 (Baguales Backcountry Touring)

  • Group breakfast Pack up and check out
  • Drive to Patagonia backcountry adventure at Baguales Reserve
  • A fleet of 4x4 trucks and snowmobiles take us deep into the Andes Fording rivers, dirt roads, old growth forests
  • Afternoon ski touring and apres ski activities at our cozy lodge
  • 2 night stay in this fabulous backcountry lodge
  • Home cooked Argentine group dinner

Day 6 & 7 (Ski Touring Baguales):

  • Group breakfast
  • Guide lead extensive backcountry turns and exploring
  • Return to our backcountry lodge with apres drinks and snacks
  • Watch the sunset over Patagonia

  • End of day seven, return to Bariloche hotel + farewell dinner in town

Arrival-Departure Flight Schedule Suggested Flight Schedule:

  • There are 2 main airports in Buenos Aires, Argentina: Ezeiza (EZE), for international arrivals and departures. Plus some flights to and from Bariloche. Aeroparque (AEP), domestic flights, including some to and from Bariloche (BRC).
  • Day 1: Please schedule your flight to BRC so it arrives no later than 4:30 pm (17:00), where PowderQuest will meet as a group to start the tour. Flight time from Buenos Aires to BRC is approx 2 hours, 25 minutes.
  • Last Day: You will have a private group transfer getting you to BRC by 11:30 am. PowderQuest suggest booking a flight to AEP departing at 12:00 pm. Flight time from Bariloche to Buenos Aires is approx 2 hours. The 2 main airlines are LAN and Aerolineas Argentinas.
  • Important if your flights require an airport change in Buenos Aires! Connecting between these Buenos Aires airports can take 1-1.5 hrs in a ground transfer. You should allow up to 4 hours total** from the time your flight arrives to the time you depart your next flight. (Arrive, collect bags, clear customs, transfer cross city to other airport, check in, departure).
** lf your flight connection times do not meet the suggested 4 hour time frame, or if you simply want to extend your stay, PowderQuest suggest arriving the day before/and or staying an extra day or two and PowderQuest can help you with hotels, ground transportation and activities in beautiful Buenos Aires or Bariloche. Lodging

PowderQuest has hand selected a mix of comfortable, small to medium size bed and breakfasts and inns in Patagonia, Argentina. Most are family run with cozy beds, private bathrooms, and include breakfast. All of the accommodations have free WIFI internet and relaxing social areas where you can get to know the group and enjoy a glass of Malbec wine before heading off to dinner at one of their favorite nearby Patagonian restaurants.

DEPOSIT & BALANCE
  • A USD 600 deposit (per person) is required at time of reservation.
  • Balance due 90 days before departure
  • PQTs accept Master Card, Visa, American Express, PayPal, bank wires. Cheques are accepted from USA bank accounts.
  • All payments are in USD
CANCELLATION BY YOU

Greater than 90 days from trip = deposit is applied towards a future trip. Your lifetime deposit does not expire and can be used for any available future guided trip with PowderQuest Tours. You may also transfer the deposit to a friend as a gift.

Cancellation fee within 90 days (of full trip cost):
  • 61-90 days prior to departure = 50% refund
  • 31-60 days prior to departure = 25% refund 
  • 30 days or fewer prior to departure = 100% cancellation fee
We highly recommend travel insurance to cover you should you have to cancel the trip.

CANCELLATION BY POWDERQUEST
No minimum number of guests are required to run a tour so departures are guaranteed.

If PowderQuest had to cancel a trip prior to departure due to unforeseen circumstances such as natural disaster, they give you a spot on another departure of the same trip, or a full credit to use towards any of their other trips.
