Big WOW!

To visit Hokkaido and stay at Simon`s place feels like to visit a good old friend, which has always a great smile on his face. Besides that, he has a PRO-rated ability to guide you to the best pow-places (fun fun fun!) in the area, no matter if you snowboard, do resort- side country skiing or go for an ambitious backcountry tour. He knows every corner in Hokkaido and Hokkaido knows him! Even if you do not come with your equipment, he will help you to get exactly that kind of stuff that you will need to have a perfect day on the snow. His cosy cabin is situated in a small town, where he knows the best local places to visit e.g. onsen, local restaurants where they only speak Japanese and you will get the feeling, how life is in Japan today. That is another big plus to stay with Simon and his charmante partner near Niseko. Last but not least, his price policy is incredible fair for that what you get! Did you not booked yet? Do it now!

When a friend and I booked a last minute ski trip, we were lucky to find Soultours. I could not be more impressed with the hospitality and our overall experience. From chasing down deep powder to hitting up amazing dinners, and taking us to the best onsen, everything was top notch. Each day Simon did a great job taking us to the best snow based on the conditions, and he even provided endless entertainment on the skin track with his jokes. Before I knew it we were heckling him like we were old friends. During our trip we had been with with several different guide companies and Soultours was by far my favorite. If you are planning a trip to the Niseko area with friends and especially if you are a solo traveler, I cant recommend Soultours enough. I know I will be booking with them for my next trip!

One-of-a-kind Hokkaido Powder experience

If you're foremost concern in going to Japan is to score the freshest powder on the best runs suited to your skill level, this is most likely the best option out there. Simon has nearly a decade of experience exploring this area of Hokkaido and put us on the best spots each day to score untracked, waist deep powder. My gear wasn't equipped to handle the amount of snow we got and Simon let me borrow one of his boards and it made a huge difference. I don't think there was a single run that wasn't fun to insanely fun over our 5+ days of riding. Simon does a good job of finding where you're comfortable and catering to your ability. My brother and I ride hard and Simon got us to some really cool empty spots. We even got into some backcountry hiking that was unbelievable. He's a great, easy-going dude, but knows his stuff and takes safety seriously as well, which is important.
The price is extremely reasonable for what you get (Nice place to sleep, rides to all spots and dinner/recommendations) and avoids all the extra bells and whistles that jack up the prices for packages in downtown Niseko.

If you want to ride hard every day and score the best snow around Niseko without the crowds, definitely check out Soul Tours. If I make my way back to Hokkaido, I know I will.

I had great time with Simon and his crew. Very forthcoming, reliable, daily checking ski conditions in resorts in the area and deciding where to go.
His house is clean and well maintained. It has a high mountain refuge feel to it. But it is located in a cute village close to all resorts instead.
On a personal note, Simon is a fun guy to hang out with, be it for drinks, onsen or dinner out.

Late change of plans had us find this gem on happenstance, and our group couldn’t have been happier. To be clear, this probably isn’t right if you’re looking for a romantic getaway or ritzy boutique hotel experience, but if your in Japan for the japow! And have a group that wants to get after it, I couldn’t say there’s a better way to go. Simon is a great host and guide. I gained a friend/mate on this trip, and will be back to visit.

Live like a local

Wasn't sure what to expect, since there was very little info available before we got there, but after exchanging emails with Simon, we knew we'd get along. Super glad we did.

Just an epic time. 6 days straight of riding (resort and side/slackcountry), onsens, traditional food, and just straight up living like a bohemian local with Simon as our live-in guide.

Accommodations are in a traditional Japanese house (I still have the dents in my head from the low doorways!) with a single bathroom, so if you're looking for luxury, this ain't it. But, it was plenty cozy, clean, fun, and absolutely perfect for what we were looking for which was to shred some great powder, experience local life, chill with new friends, and rely on someone else to do the planning (thanks, Simon!). We arrived as customers and left as friends. Will definitely be back!

Otaru & Niseko Powder Chaser

I signed up for this tour for the end of January 2020, and I'm SO glad that I did! Aside from the super competitive pricing of the tour, Simon and Soul Tours showed me everything Japan had to offer! Simon has been going on his 7th or 8th year snowboarding in and around Niseko, so he knows the resorts, sidecountry and backcountry like the back of his hand. He was super knowledgeable about snow conditions, avalanche danger and where to find the best powder on any given day! I never felt in any danger when hiking for the best powder turns, even in his secret powder stash locations! Aside from finding the best snow, Simon showed me the best of Niseko and the surrounding areas, taking me to his favorite ramen and japanese food locations, snowboard shops and bars. It was a good time! Lodging was excellent and comfortable as well. If I had to do it all over again, hands down I would be choosing Soul Tours. Thanks again Simon!!
