Gourmet Gold Dolomites Ski Safari

A Table d'Ote of Slopes & Ski Trails with A La Carte Cuisine

Ski the breathtaking Dolomites on a guided ski journey where world-class slopes meet gourmet cuisine and exceptional alpine stays. Whether you’re twirling spaghetti carbonara at a rustic rifugio, tucking into a hearty steak in the Alta Badia, or devouring a pizza margherita in the Val di Fassa, dining out is one of the great pleasures of skiing the Dolomiti Superski. The tour links 7 ski resorts by ski, lift, taxi, and helicopter, spends 4-nights in mountain rifugi, visits incredible mountain restaurants, and all under the guidance of your dedicated host. Using only groomed ski slopes you ski from high-mountain rifugio-to-rifugio through mile upon mile of some of the most stunning mountains in the world.

Itinerary, Lodging & Meals

Stay in the best rifugi, experience two wonderful helicopter flights through these beautiful mountains .... not to mention the food, wines, & great ski slopes. Find the best snow, stunning mountain vistas, enjoy local cuisine and some lesser known, quieter ski slopes. Ski the resorts of Alta Badia, Arabba Marmolada, Civetta, parts of Cortina, San Pellegrino, parts of Val di Fassa & Val Gardena.

This seven night ‘soft adventure’ ski tour is fully hosted & guided with your own ski leader. You never have to puzzle over your trail map or think about where you're going. Just enjoy the slopes as they keep on coming ... and there are lots of them!

For more details on the tour program, plus lodging & meals, see the Itinerary tab and the Lodging page.

Small Group

The Gourmet Gold Dolomites Ski Safari is restricted to a maximum of six per group, plus your ski leader.

Ski Ability & Gear

This ski safari is suitable for fit, intermediate & advanced skiers that can ski at a medium pace all day. The term 'intermediate skier' is liberally banded about. Some overestimate, some underestimate. The tour operator has some clear, detailed descriptions of ski ability will be sent to you as all guests will be 'qualified' before booking to ensure that the group is of the necessary fitness & ski ability (they do their best to match groups with similar abilities). Together it can be ensured that your ski ability is what is needed for the itinerary of your choice. But remember, it is your fitness that is key and whilst the itinerary is flexible, put simply, the fitter you are, the more fun you will have.

On-piste trails are utilised throughout the tour. Off-piste skiing is possible along the way (as long as it doesn't slow the group down!), but it is at your own risk and will be without the ski leader.

Ski Equipment & Lift Passes

All mountain skis (Head Shape eV8 2026) and poles are included in the tour price. You will need to bring your own ski boots or organise to rent some for an extra fee. A price reduction is given for anyone that wishes to use their own skis & poles.

A full 6-day Dolomiti Superski lift pass is included in the tour. If you have an IKON Pass that is valid for skiing 6-days in the Dolomites, you will receive a price reduction on the overall tour tariff.

Getting There & Away

The tour starts with a pick-up from one of four locations; Innsbruck airport, Innsbruck Hbf (main train station), Verona airport, & Bolzano. To reach the start of the tour, Innsbruck (INN) is the best gateway airport. Yes, fly to Austria to ski Italy! If flights to Innsbruck are too awkward, then Verona (VRN) is the next best, but its flight schedule is even less than Innsbruck. Major international airports nearby are Munich (MUC) (just 2½hr train ride from Innsbruck) or Venice (VCE) and then train to Bolzano).

Either way, transfers can be arranged, or just get to either Innsbruck, Verona or Bolzano and get picked up by the included airport transfer. On the last day of the ski safari, after a great night’s sleep & breakfast, you will be driven to your preferred airport or other destination as negotiated with the tour operator.

Itinerary for Gourmet Gold Dolomites Ski Safari

The Gourmet Gold Dolomites Ski Safari isn't about Michelin Stars: it’s all about authentic, great quality food in the best settings and an unforgettable ski journey through the world's most spectacular mountains.

DAY 1: Arrival & Welcome

A private taxi transfer from Innsbruck, Verona or Bolzano (or other preferred location) to the high mountain village of Bulla in the Val Gardena. This hidden gem clings to the valley wall high above Ortisei and just below Alpe di Siusi. Here you find the family Pitschieler run Slow Farm Hotel of Mea Via where they make their own butter, love their animals and have a wine list that puzzles and challenges all comers. Collect your ski gear along the way.

HIGHLIGHTS: Arriving in the Val Gardena | Ski Collection | Mea Via Slow Farm Hotel | Welcome & Briefing
ACCOMMODATION: Mea Via Slow Farm Hotel, Bulla, Val Gardena

DAY 2: Alpe di Siusi

'Bon di' is the call as you take in the Mea Via breakfast. Then a short taxi ride to the Alpe di Siusi lift in Ortisei for a cruisy day on this remarkable plateau. Take in the best slopes that Siusi has to offer, dropping in for coffee at Rifugio Zalinger and lunch at the Goldenknopf Restaurant where the views compete with the menu for your attention and both are deserving of a long hard look.

HIGHLIGHTS: Cruise the slopes of Alpe di Siusi - Rif Zalinger Coffee | Goldenknopf Lunch
ACCOMMODATION: Mea Via Slow Farm Hotel, Bulla, Val Gardena

DAY 3: Passo San Pellegrino

Hop onboard for the flight of a lifetime: up and over Alpe di Siusi to Passo San Pellegrino scanning the Dolomiti Superski area as you go. This flight will live long in your memory. Landing on top of the Passo San Pellegrino ski area your first super long run down to Falcade will warm you up nicely. The slopes of San Pellegrino are famed for their carving friendly gradients and immaculate grooming. A memorable lunch at InAlto, on top of the Col Margherita.

HIGHLIGHTS: InAlto Lunch | Helicopter Flight to San Pellegrino | Super-long Groomed Slopes
ACCOMMODATION: Chalet Cima Uomo, Passo San Pellegrino

DAY 4: Civetta

An early departure to pick up your second helicopter transfer this time to ski area Civetta. Look left for a view of Marmolada because in a few days you'll be on top of it! The extraordinary Civetta ski area seems to go on and on and is so quiet. Shadowed by the magnificent peaks of Monte Civetta and Monte Pelmo, it is one of our personal favourites. There are some extraordinary ski slopes here that seem to go on forever. The end of the day takes the group on a private taxi transfer to the Passo Falzarego and the lift up to Rifugio Lagazuoi, probably the most famous rifugio in the Italian Dolomites.

HIGHLIGHTS: Helicopter Ride to Civetta | The Long Slopes | Lunch at Col di Baldi | Rif Lagazuoi
ACCOMMODATION: Rifugio Lagazuoi, Cortina d'Ampezzo

DAY 5: Hidden Valley & Alta Badia

The drop in from Rifugio Lagazuoi is one of the best and the run down the front of the mountain is simply stunning. Of course, the Hidden Valley (or Armentarola 101 to give it the official name) is the ski highlight of the day. Head into the centre of the Alta Badia region for a memorable lunch, before skiing to the night's Rifugio near the base of Marmolada.

HIGHLIGHTS: Hidden Valley | Horse Tow | A Truly Memorable Lunch
ACCOMMODATION: Baita Dovich, Marmolada

DAY 6: Marmolada & Sella Ronda

The Queen of the Dolomites is at her pristine best at 9am. Her 12km intermediate slope, panoramic vista and groomed piste are exceptional by any standards. Then the group will follow the Sella Ronda orange route [clockwise] towards Selva where we drop by the Piz Seteur restaurant for our lunch.

HIGHLIGHTS: Marmolada | Arabba | Sella Ronda
ACCOMMODATION: Rifugio Col Pradat, Val Badia, Alta Badia

DAY 7: Curves & Corners & a Home Run

Dropping in from Col Pradat first thing in a morning having watched the sun rise across the Alta Badia is one of those rare lifetime treats. The lifts aren't yet turning, and you'll be first on the lift heading west to the Val Gardena. The day is full of highlight slopes, and hidden secrets including secluded coffee stop venues and the lunch at Sofies Hutte right on top of the famous Seceda. Skis are deposited and we return to our base.

HIGHLIGHTS: Sunrise | Val Gardena | Cir, Saslong, La Longia, Seceda Pistes
ACCOMMODATION: Mea Via Slow Farm Hotel, Bulla, Val Gardena

DAY 8: Departure

The Mea Via Slow Farm breakfast sets you up for your day ahead. Your private taxi transfer will forward you to the airport or your next destination.

HIGHLIGHT: Breakfast with memories of a fantastic gourmet ski safari with your new friends!

Accommodation & Meals

The Gourmet Gold Dolomites Ski Safari starts with 2 nights in the boutique Mea Via Slow Farm Hotel, then 4 nights in various mountain rifugi, before finishing with a final night back to the Mea Via.

Mea Via Slow Farm Hotel

During your Ski Safari you will spend 3 nights (2 nights at the start & 1 night at the end of the tour) in the beautifully appointed Mea Via Slow Farm Hotel, located in the mountain village of Bulla above Val Gardena. Rooms will be on a double or twin share basis & an amazing locally breakfast and dinner is included. Perched above Ortisei in Val Gardena, the hamlet of Bulla (Pufels) is a quiet alpine village at 1,500 m, known for its rich geology and cultural heritage. Overlooking the village is Mount Bullaccia and its famous Witches’ Benches. A short walk away, you’ll also find three historic grain mills- Droch, Zaramin, and Rumanon - one of which has been restored, preserving a piece of Bulla’s past.

Mountain Rifugi

During the middle of the ski safari you will experience the ultimate Dolomites lodging experience spending 4 consecutive nights in different alpine rifugi. The rifugi include single nights in Chalet Cima Uomo (San Pellegrino), Rifugio Lagazuoi (Cortina d'Ampezzo), Albergo & Ristorante Baita Dovich (base of Marmolada), and Rifugio Col Pradat (Alta Badia).

A highlight of the trip is a night in Rifugio Lagazuoi. Situated on the peak of Mount Lagazuoi (above the Falzarego Pass, halfway between Cortina d'Ampezzo and the Badia Valley at 2,752m altitude), the Lagazuoi Refuge is the highest and the largest mountain hut in Cortina d'Ampezzo and boasts the most panoramic terrace in the Dolomites. It is probably the most famous rifugio in the Dolomites.

Note that whilst most couples will get their own private rooms with en suite, it is impossible to guarantee this. It is most likely that you will, at some point, have to share with other members of your group, but that is part of the rifugio experience!

All rifugi on this tour include breakfast & dinner, plus full bars with local aperitifs, beer, wine & grappa. Stunning sunrises & sunsets are complimentary!
