Itinerary for Gourmet Gold Dolomites Ski Safari
The Gourmet Gold Dolomites Ski Safari isn't about Michelin Stars: it’s all about authentic, great quality food in the best settings and an unforgettable ski journey through the world's most spectacular mountains.
DAY 1: Arrival & Welcome
A private taxi transfer from Innsbruck, Verona or Bolzano (or other preferred location) to the high mountain village of Bulla in the Val Gardena. This hidden gem clings to the valley wall high above Ortisei and just below Alpe di Siusi. Here you find the family Pitschieler run Slow Farm Hotel of Mea Via where they make their own butter, love their animals and have a wine list that puzzles and challenges all comers. Collect your ski gear along the way.

DAY 2: Alpe di Siusi
'Bon di' is the call as you take in the Mea Via breakfast. Then a short taxi ride to the Alpe di Siusi lift in Ortisei for a cruisy day on this remarkable plateau. Take in the best slopes that Siusi has to offer, dropping in for coffee at Rifugio Zalinger and lunch at the Goldenknopf Restaurant where the views compete with the menu for your attention and both are deserving of a long hard look.

DAY 3: Passo San Pellegrino
Hop onboard for the flight of a lifetime: up and over Alpe di Siusi to Passo San Pellegrino scanning the Dolomiti Superski area as you go. This flight will live long in your memory. Landing on top of the Passo San Pellegrino ski area your first super long run down to Falcade will warm you up nicely. The slopes of San Pellegrino are famed for their carving friendly gradients and immaculate grooming. A memorable lunch at InAlto, on top of the Col Margherita.
HIGHLIGHTS: InAlto Lunch | Helicopter Flight to San Pellegrino | Super-long Groomed Slopes
ACCOMMODATION: Chalet Cima Uomo, Passo San Pellegrino
DAY 4: Civetta
An early departure to pick up your second helicopter transfer this time to ski area Civetta. Look left for a view of Marmolada because in a few days you'll be on top of it! The extraordinary Civetta ski area seems to go on and on and is so quiet. Shadowed by the magnificent peaks of Monte Civetta and Monte Pelmo, it is one of our personal favourites. There are some extraordinary ski slopes here that seem to go on forever. The end of the day takes the group on a private taxi transfer to the Passo Falzarego and the lift up to Rifugio Lagazuoi, probably the most famous rifugio in the Italian Dolomites.
HIGHLIGHTS: Helicopter Ride to Civetta | The Long Slopes | Lunch at Col di Baldi | Rif Lagazuoi
ACCOMMODATION: Rifugio Lagazuoi, Cortina d'Ampezzo
DAY 5: Hidden Valley & Alta Badia
The drop in from Rifugio Lagazuoi is one of the best and the run down the front of the mountain is simply stunning. Of course, the Hidden Valley (or Armentarola 101 to give it the official name) is the ski highlight of the day. Head into the centre of the Alta Badia region for a memorable lunch, before skiing to the night's Rifugio near the base of Marmolada.
HIGHLIGHTS: Hidden Valley | Horse Tow | A Truly Memorable Lunch
ACCOMMODATION: Baita Dovich, Marmolada
DAY 6: Marmolada & Sella Ronda
The Queen of the Dolomites is at her pristine best at 9am. Her 12km intermediate slope, panoramic vista and groomed piste are exceptional by any standards. Then the group will follow the Sella Ronda orange route [clockwise] towards Selva where we drop by the Piz Seteur restaurant for our lunch.
HIGHLIGHTS: Marmolada | Arabba | Sella Ronda
ACCOMMODATION: Rifugio Col Pradat, Val Badia, Alta Badia
DAY 7: Curves & Corners & a Home Run
Dropping in from Col Pradat first thing in a morning having watched the sun rise across the Alta Badia is one of those rare lifetime treats. The lifts aren't yet turning, and you'll be first on the lift heading west to the Val Gardena. The day is full of highlight slopes, and hidden secrets including secluded coffee stop venues and the lunch at Sofies Hutte right on top of the famous Seceda. Skis are deposited and we return to our base.
HIGHLIGHTS: Sunrise | Val Gardena | Cir, Saslong, La Longia, Seceda Pistes
