I've had the time of my life touring, freesking & enjoying Georgia with Gito! I've been in the area in one of the worst winters as there was so few snow but Gio still made my experience unique.
He offered so much help in any cases... no matter if it was when my glasses broke he offered his, brought me to my next stop in his car, showed my local sauna places, ... & he's always in a good mood!!!!

We had the pleasure of riding with Gito from GFR during a massive storm cycle in late January 2024. Expert local knowledge, fast (literally!) & efficient ground transport, safe route selection and a no-nonsense approach made for a truly memorable experience. Expect untracked powder, lots of thrills, wonderful food, laughter and loads of après ski shenanigans.

Anyone joining a tour with GFR should be fit and leave any pretence or ‘chips on the shoulder’ at home. Bring your best relaxed attitude, plus fat ski gear or powder boards for deep snow and be prepared for the unexpected because in Mestia you are “not in Kansas anymore Toto!”. Can’t wait to go back.

We had an amazing time on our freeride trip in Mestia, Georgia. The guide took us to incredible places like Ushguli, the Chaladi Glacier, and Tetnuldi Ski Resort - all breathtaking spots with stunning landscapes and great snow conditions. The food was delicious, all traditional Georgian cuisine, and the hospitality everywhere we went was exceptional. Everyone was so kind and welcoming. We’re already looking forward to coming back!

In Feb 2025 I had an ultimate pleasure to experience a pow day on splitboard in Svanetii/Ushguli region with Gito! It was pure ecstasy!
Truly recomend Gito as an professional guide with a great sense of humour :)

It’s always an amazing experience in Mestia! The mountains of Svaneti are breathtaking, and you can really feel their power and beauty. The splitboard tours were exciting and unforgettable. My trip to Georgia was honestly the best ski trip I ever had. It’s a such special place! The culture, the architecture, the vibe.. all included!!
Thanks to Gito we explored the most majestic mountains and and skied epic lines. I always felt safe and comfortable with him. Can’t wait to go back!!!
