Program
Looking for powder ? Heaps of it ? And you want to freeride until you drop ?
Then get your gear ready for the next deep powder ski trip in the land of the rising sun. Odds are high for snow, dry, deep and endless, and there could be insane amounts of it ! Much of the terrain skied is nicely spaced silver birch trees at low altitude, which is quite unique. Bring big fat skis, because you'll definitely appreciate them !
All amenities are set: the lunch breaks often happen to be in local on-the-mountain restaurants where you'll slurp huge bowls of tasty steaming ramen noodles.
The two bases for the trip are Furano and Niseko in very comfortable accommodation. Both locations are ideal for some Japan-style après-ski, although before drinks is the real form of Japanese apres, which is a soak in the onsen, the famous hot spring baths.
From the Furano base, you might ski at Furano, Kamui and Asahidake. Your guide will then drive you southwest with a stop at Sapporo Teine, then onto your Niseko base for skiing at Niseko United and Rusutsu.
See the itinerary tab for more information on the program.

Ability & Fitness
You should be at ease skiing in any type of snow and amongst trees as the group will ski every day at a good pace. Slopes can include some short steep sections. Short climbs with skins will be involved for 45 min to 1 hr maximum per day. You will not be expected to have previous ski touring experience.
A good physical condition is expected, as you will skin approximately 45 minutes to 1 hr per day and ski the entire day at a steady pace. On powder days it will be mostly lift-accessed powder with no skinning.
