We can recommend the Chateau Apres Lodge for no-frills affordable lodging. Well it’s inexpensive relative to the rest of the Park City lodging that’s very very spendy, but don’t expect it to be cheap.

The lodge was functional and a throwback to old style Euro ski lodges. It was nothing fancy and very tired, but our expectations were set before we arrived, so we were very content with the lodgings.

Breakfast was reasonable and mostly cereals and toast which was adequate. There was no hot food, but then unless it’s a gourmet buffet, we’re not really fans of those chain hotel breakfasts with the waffles, pancakes and rubbery eggs.

The location was excellent for access to the slopes of Park City; just a short walk up the hill to the main base. We ate up at the Park City Mountain Resort base for dinner a couple of night, but mostly caught the bus into Main Street for dinner. The bus stop near the library also made it pretty easy to get to Deer Valley.
