We enjoyed our stay at the Wanaka View Motel. It’s an older style motel that’s been renovated and includes some funky décor & mid-century furniture. We stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment at the front of the block, with provided nice views across the park and to the lake, especially when a car wasn’t parked in the car park out the front.

The kitchen was adequate for preparing simple meals, and it was nice that they provided coffee keep cups for us to borrow. The living area was reasonable sized for the 2 of us, with the only limitation being that the Blinds in living area were transparent so in the evenings could see straight into our room when the lights were on.

The bedroom was compact and we had to open and close the door to get around the bed, but that was just a minor inconvenience. Being at the front of the block, there was a bit of road noise although Brownston Street was probably busier than usual because the road was closed for roadworks down on Ardmore Street.

Value for money was very good for a self-contained option and we’d very happily stay here again.
