Heliski untouched powder amongst the incredible peaks of the Dolomites with your own local certified mountain guide. Includes pick up/drop off by helicopter from the helipad closest to your Dolomites hotel & flight to a mountain top rifugio for lunch. Each helicopter can take a private groups of up to 4 people for an unforgettable day of heli skiing & snowboarding.
Snow & Terrain
Snow conditions in the Dolomites can be highly variable, so the tour will run only if conditions allow. Helicopter landing points are at 2,300m elevation and descents can vary greatly from open bowls to steep chutes and forests. The mountains and slopes explored are always dependent on the snow, so there are no defined routes. The mountain guide decides the exact routes based on snow, weather, and the group's ability.
Pick-up & Drop-off
Groups can be picked up and dropped off by the helicopter at a wide range of heliports in the Dolomites. Locations include Bolzano, Renon (Ritten), Kronplatz, Corvara (Alta Badia), Canazei (Val di Fassa), Cortina d'Ampezzo, Obereggen, plus locations near Arabba and in Val Gardena.
Lunch
Whilst the actual meal is not included in the price, the helicopter will fly your group to nearby mountain top rifugio for a classic Dolomiti lunch. Possible lunch-spots include Rifugio Averau (near Cinque Torri Cortina), Rifugio Burz (above Arabba), Rifugio Cherz (between Arabba & Corvara), and Rifugio Pralongia (in Alta Badia).
Helicopter & Flights
Professional local pilots on a 'best-in-the-industry' AS350 helicopter will get you safely to the best of the Dolomites. The tour includes 5 helicopter flights/drops whilst skiing, in addition to the heli-transfer to the ski area.
Ski Ability, Safety & Equipment
A day with Heliunion skiing & snowboarding in the Dolomites can cater for abilities from strong intermediates to experts! Previous powder & mixed snow conditions experience is preferred, however with your own private group, you know what you are getting yourself in for! Be honest with the guide about your group’s capabilities.
Avalanche safety equipment is included in the price of the tour and your guide will ensure you are well versed in its use.
Ski & snowboard equipment appropriate for off-piste conditions is preferred for the tour. Rentals can be arranged, please request prior to the date.
