Itinerary
This tour
starts in
Bariloche, Argentina and
ends in
Bariloche, Argentina.
Day 1 - ARRIVAL IN BARILOCHE
Guests will need to arrange flights to San Carlos de Bariloche airport (BRC) from Buenos Aires. Here they are met by CASA guides and taken to your lakeside Bariloche accommodation. Tonight we have a trip orientation and welcome dinner at one of Bariloche’s local breweries. Early arrivals are welcome and CASA guides can assist with logistics.
Day 2 - SKI/RIDE CERRO CATEDRAL
We spend our first ski day at Cerro Catedral. This modern ski center with a distinctly European feel features over 3,000 acres of on piste terrain, extensive lift-accessed backcountry steeps, and some of the most spectacular scenery imaginable. The Powder Gods have been very good to us here. In the evenings we experience Bariloche’s lively nightlife and excellent eateries featuring local Patagonian trout, lamb and beef.
Day 3 - VILLA LA ANGOSTURA - CERRO BAYO
Today we road trip to the lakeside village of Villa la Angostura and the slopes of Cerro Bayo. This small town vibe, boutique ski center accesses lots of crowd-free powdery terrain. Located on the north shore of Lago Nahuel Huapi, across from Bariloche, Cerro Bayo features magnificent lake vistas and true Argentine charm. On the way home we stop at our favorite roadhouse parrilla restaurant for a true guacho culinary experience.
Day 4 - BAGUALES MOUNTAIN RESERVE
Argentina’s newest cat-skiing operation, Baguales Mountain Reserve boasts over 34,000 acres of powdery terrain and vertical descents up to 3000 feet. This privately owned reserve is one classy experience set in the wilds of the Patagonian Andes. Baguales is a pristine mountain playground just for us to indulge in.
Days 5 - TRAVEL to ESQUEL
Our journey south on Ruta 40 runs deep into Patagonia and its snow covered mountains, barren steppes, and endless pampas to Esquel, our gateway to La Hoya ski center. En route we stop in the artisan inspired town of El Bolson for lunch before continuing through this vast wind sculpted landscape known for its huge ranches, guacho culture and where Butch Cassidy roamed. We spend 4 nights in Esquel, Chubut’s capital city.
Day 6 - 8 - SKI/RIDE LA HOYA
Receiving some of the coldest and driest powder in the Patagonian Andes, plenty of big mountain riding, loads of terrain features and a genuine, laid back vibe make La Hoya a highly recommended Argentine visit. For 3 days we explore this snow jewel while enjoying it’s local Patagonian hospitality and dramatic wild scenery.
Day 9 - DEPARTURE DAY
Depending on your flight schedule you may have the opportunity for a final day on the slopes of Cerro Catedral. After breakfast CASA guides will arrange transportation to the airport or Cerro Catedral depending on guests departing flights from San Carlos de Bariloche.
