The broad Innsbruck ski region has phenomenal off-piste freeride & backcountry terrain & nowhere is more iconic than above the city in Nordkette. Much of the nest terrain is only a short distance from the ski lifts. Whether it is the super steeps, couloirs & backcountry at Nordkette, on the peaks around Kuhtai, the inbounds or backside of Axamer Lizum, or the summits of Patscherkofel or Glungezer, exploring it all on a short visit is most efficiently done with a local instructor or guide.
