Seventh Door Ryokan is a chic and recently renovated 3 star traditional Japanese hotel in a great location and just a very short walk to the lifts. It is becoming a popular base for Westerners travelling to Myoko Kogen.

Where is the Seventh Door Ryokan? The 7th Door Ryokan (aka Hotel Syuzan or Hotel Shuzan) is located in the village of Akakura Onsen, approximately 2 minutes walk from the nearest lift at Akakura Kanko ski resort (which is popular with powder hounds). The ryokan is just off the main drag, and a range of restaurants are just a stone’s throw away, as are ski and snowboard rental shops, and a child care facility.

Akakura Onsen is 45km (approx 1:20 hours) from JR Nagano Station or 7km (15-20 mins by bus) from Myoko Kogen train station.
