The Blackcomb Spring Suites (formerly known as Coast Blackcomb Suites) at Whistler are very well located ski-in/ski-out accommodations located slopeside on Blackcomb. Blackcomb Spring Suites provide self-contained studio and condo accommodations, with the added benefit of having the amenities and service you’d expect of a hotel. This is the perfect Whistler accommodation for families, groups and couples who want the convenience of premium ski-in/out access, and don’t need to be in amongst the hustle and bustle of the Whistler Village.

Where are the Blackcomb Spring Suites Located?

The Blackcomb Spring Suites have a superb ski-in/ski-out location adjacent to the Wizard chair lift on Blackcomb Mountain at Whistler Blackcomb. This Blackcomb area is referred to as the Upper Village, which is reasonably peaceful and sedate.

There is a free regular shuttle bus service (which operates from 6am to 2am daily) to whisk you between the Blackcomb Spring Suites, the base of Blackcomb Mountain (where there is ski school, child care and a few bars and restaurants), and Whistler Village (the main hub of action where there are hundreds of restaurants, bars and shops). The shuttle bus takes about 5 mins to the base of Blackcomb Mountain and 10 mins to Whistler Village.

Services

The hotel provides daily housekeeping. Reception staff can assist with any queries about things to do in Whistler, and there’s a small shop for basic sundries.

Complimentary wifi is also available to guests throughout the hotel and within all suites.

A daily continental breakfast is provided as part of the package, and hot beverages are available all day.

More Information on the Ski-in Ski-out Access

The ski-in ski-out access is via Merlin’s, a blue (intermediate) run that leads down to the base of Blackcomb Mountain.

Confident beginners could walk across the blue run to a green run, the Yellow Brick Road. Rather than ski down, first time skiers and boarders may prefer to catch the shuttle bus down to the Blackcomb base area. Families accessing ski school or child care at the Blackcomb base area may also want to catch the shuttle bus to get there.

If riding on Blackcomb Mountain it’s easy to ski-in to the hotel via Merlin’s run. To return “home” from Whistler Mountain, get off at the mid station of the Blackcomb Excalibur gondola and traverse across to the hotel.

More Reasons to Stay at the Blackcomb Spring Suites

Ski-in ski-out access is somewhat rare at Whistler Blackcomb. Thankfully at Blackcomb Spring Suites, there’s no long tedious walk in your ski boots whilst lugging your equipment just to get to the slopes. It’s so easy to pick up your skis or snowboard from the hotel valet service, walk about 5 metres, click in, and schuss down to the Merlin chair lift. At the end of the day, ski-in, drop your equipment with the valet, and then head for the pool and hot tub. Sounds perfect eh?

Position, Value and Service - ticks all the boxes

We would highly recommend staying at the Coast Blackcomb Suites at Whistler. It’s very well suited to couples, small groups or families.

Firstly the ski-in ski-out location was soooo convenient and easy. Not having to trek to and from the slopes was amazing and we could save our time and energy for skiing. The hotel ski storage was also really convenient, which meant we only had to carry our skis about 3 metres before clicking in! If you need ski or snowboard rentals, these are only a few metres from the slopes too.

We relaxed at the condo a couple of nights and cooked dinner, and went out for dinner the other nights. The Coast Blackcomb Suites aren’t located close to the restaurants, bars and shops of central Whistler, but it’s pretty easy to catch the bus into Whistler Village. These are free and regular.

We stayed in a lovely two bedroom condo overlooking the pool and the slopes. The lounge room wasn’t particularly large, but it was functional for 4 people (it would be a bit squishy with 6). The condo/suite wasn’t modern, but it was nicely decked out, in good condition, and very homely and comfortable. The king sized bed in particular was very comfortable after a big day of skiing!

Also big was the continental breakfast. The selection of items was amazing and included waffles, pastries, cereal and yoghurt.

Another highlight of the Coast Blackcomb Suites was the swimming pool and hot tubs; an awesome way to finish the day and soak the weary muscles.
