Japarch Tour

Japan in March is a great time to make the most of skiing and snowboarding in Central Hokkaido! Less competition, the deepest snowpack of the year, longer daylight and more days to get up into the alpine to explore the pinnacle of skiing in Hokkaido.

If your forte is some untracked lift accessed pow and lots of incredible backcountry touring, March is the month to be in Hokkaido Japan. Because the crowds at resorts have all but disappeared and gullies are well filled in, allowing easy travel between peaks and smooth exits. Some of the most memorable adventures can happen in March, but it’s important to be flexible to follow the snow. On top of this, the March tours are so well priced that you’d be crazy not to go!

For 5 full days you'll be taken to the best skiing in the Central Hokkaido region before being shuttled to Sapporo.

Ability

The Japarch tour is designed for advanced and above skiers and boarders. It is a tour that includes touring so you will need a full backcountry touring kit (skis plus skins or split-board / snowshoes for boarders).

The amount of hiking and touring each day will ultimately depend on the snow conditions on the day as to where to get the best line for each run.

If you don't have any BC gear, the tour operator can kit you out with rental gear.
