Getting Around Silver Star

For those staying in Silver Star accommodation that is not close to the central village, there is a complimentary resort shuttle that goes from the mid-mountain village and weaves around the various roads. The shuttle doesn’t run particularly late into the evenings, so if you stay out late you’ll be walking home. Most accommodation is within 10 minutes walk of the village, but much of it is an uphill walk (or stumble….).

Ski Resorts Nearby

The Big White ski resort is located in the same region, 125km away. Now that Big White and Silver Star are no longer “friends” it’s much harder to get between the ski areas unless you get private chartered transport.

Crystal Mountain is also close by in West Kelowna, but it’s just a small ski field that’s popular with local families, and it’s not really an international ski destination.

Cat Skiing Near Silver Star

You could use Silver Star Ski Resort as a warm-up before a multi-day cat skiing trip.

Keefer Lake Lodge Cat Skiing is located in the Monashee Mountains of BC Canada, southeast of the town of Cherryville. Keefer Lake Cat Skiing offers 3 and 4 day packages that need to be booked well in advance.

Monashee Powder Cats is also located near Cherryville and offers 3 and 4 day packages. The lodging and cuisine aren’t as fancy as Keefer Lake, and the terrain at Monashee Powder Cats is more suited to strong intermediate to advanced riders (whilst Keefer Lake is much better for upper advanced to experts).
