Accommodation in
Gulmarg India is the one great question that defies a full explanation. You would assume reliable hot water and heating were always included in the accommodation at a ski resort, but at Gulmarg you need to double-check. However don’t believe all that you see and read on the hotel websites! Check with a reliable source (like us!).
It is safe to say that given the low cost of living in Kashmir, the cost of Gulmarg hotels is excessive. Tariffs for a moderate hotel are similar to what you might pay at a top club lodge in peak season elsewhere in the world. With a few notable exceptions, the tariffs do not equate to the reality.
Here are some examples of Gulmarg hotels close to the gondola.
Hotel Highlands Park is a well appointed colonial style hotel located about 10 minutes ski/walk from the gondola base. It is more expensive than other hotels in Gulmarg but it’s worth every penny. See our review of the

Grand Mumtaz is located up the hill from the gondola base about 5 minutes walk / ski away. The hotel is moderately priced with polite and friendly staff, but is singularly disappointing. See our review of the

The
Pine Palace & New Pine Palace is moderately priced, located near the Grand Mumtaz. It is ski in / ski out, has a bar and decent restaurants. The new Pine Palace is higher up the hill than the original Pine Palace and is often referred to as the Pine Palace Platinum on websites. Platinum it is not. More like copper or bronze!
Hill Top is moderately priced, located about 3 minutes walk from the gondola base.
Green Heights is a budget option 3 minutes walk from the gondola base. You get what you pay for.
