If you are heading to the Bariloche area you can't go past a couple of days of cat skiing at Baguales Mountain Reserve or mix it up with some touring. Day cat skiing from Bariloche is also a possibility although the rustic Baguales Lodge is a quintessential part of the experience as is the cuisine & service.

Baguales Cat Skiing Packages

Baguales Mountain Reserve offers multi-day trips with overnight stays at their rustic mountain lodge.

Packages includes cat skiing, UIAGM certified mountain guides, a safety briefing, snacks, breakfast, lunch & dinner for each night you stay at the lodge plus transfers to/from Bariloche.

Accommodation is either twin-share with a private bathroom or quad-share room with a shared bathroom.

Baguales Terrain

The Baguales privately owned reserve offers a playground of about 10,000 hectares (25,000 acres), which is roughly 8.5 times the size of Cerro Catedral ski resort. And instead of sharing the terrain with thousands and thousands of punters, you only have to share the Baguales heaven with 27 others.

Many of the runs are not particularly long whilst some lines offer descents of up to 3,000 vertical feet. Depending on conditions and the speed of the group, you can expect 8-14 runs and up to 4,500 to 5,000 metres (14,760 to 16,400 feet) of vertical joy each day.

The minimum ability requirement is intermediate. In addition to open mellow slopes for intermediates, Baguales also has a variety of terrain for stronger skiers and boarders which is largely in the alpine.

Only a short ride to the first run...

...incredibly diverse terrain...

...a superb wilderness experience.

BagualesLodging

“Baguales” means feral or wild, and whilst wild horses may have once roamed the lands, there is definitely nothing feral about staying at the La Mesada lodge.

The lodge offers upscale accommodation in cozy double bedrooms with private ensuite. There are also some budget quad-share rooms that use a shared bathroom.

The lodge has sophisticated furniture, luxury rugs, a billiards table, and a large open fireplace as the centre-piece for après banter.

Dinner usually consists of a very hearty meal that features meat (no surprise there) or fish that can be accompanied with some renowned Argentinian wine.

The lodge is beautifully rustic...
