Silver Star isn’t the place to go on a shopping spree, but it’s got quality not quantity.
Grocery Shopping The Aberdeen market in the village has a small selection of reasonably priced groceries, including fresh produce and liquor. They also offer a delivery service.
For buying in bulk, you may wish to use a service provided by one of the Vernon supermarkets, whereby you can order groceries over the phone for delivery next day. This is a great service, although the explanation of some grocery items may get lost in translation.
Alternatively you can get a bus or taxi into Vernon to D.I.Y.
Souvenir Shopping/General Shopping Ski Dazzle is such a great shop; you might not want to go anywhere else, as it’s packed full of great ski gear. The owner looked after us, provided great advice on equipment purchases, and gave great discounts for buying in bulk. We absolutely went to town in this shop! It’s only medium sized, but offers a great variety of equipment, clothing and souvenirs.
Valhalla Pure has ski gear and apparel with an emphasis on cross-country skiing.
For souvenirs, the best place is Coldstream Dry Goods Co. It has lots of Silver Star clothing souvenirs such as ski tops, and there’s not a tacky t-shirt in sight! The clothes and giftware are interesting and colourful, and the service is quintessentially Silver Star – super friendly!
