Brambrueesch

Brambrüesch Ski Resort Switzerland

The Brambrueesch ski resort is a small, traditional Swiss skiing area perched high above the city of Chur.

A ski trip to the Grisons canton may well be best started with a day on family friendly Brambruesch.

Cons

  • Relatively expensive lift pass;
  • Limited piste terrain;
  • Snow on lower half of mountain may be poor;
  • T-bar between gondola & chair is an odd arrangement.

Pro or Con Depending On Your Perspective

  • Skiing a traditional resort within easy reach of a major city;
  • No snow making so check conditions before buying lift pass.

Brambrüesch Skiing & Snowboarding

With 20km of piste trails over nearly 1000m of vertical, Brambruesch provides a convenient starting point to stretch the legs before heading off to bigger & better things at Arosa & Lenzerheide.  Perfect for a family friendly day out, the main base area (1595m) has beginner trails and all the facilities for a fun day.

Brambrueesch is let down by its ski lifts, particularly where a gondola links with a T-bar which links with a chairlift - an odd arrangement. Ski lift price is too expensive also, but it is Switzerland after all. Other things worth knowing include no valley run (so everyone must download on the cable car) and the snow on the lower half of the mountain between Brambrueesch & Kuernzeli may be bony, so check it out on the way up in the gondola.

A beautiful ski tour from top of the resort at Dreibuedenstein (2160m) is only a few km to Windegga at the top of the Churwalden ski lifts. Churwalden is part of the superb Lenzerheide ski resort

Brambrüesch Activities

The best part of small ski resorts near big cities is that they tend to provide a full range of non ski activities to visitors. Sightseeing via the cable car & gondola, alpine dining, winter walking & sledding trails are but a few of the activities one can undertake if skiing is not on the agenda.
