Copperhorse Lodge
Overview
My first impression of the Copper Horse Lodge was “WOW”! What an incredibly inviting and cosy lodge! This boutique hotel is impressively decked out without compromising comfort.
Where is Copper Horse Lodge?
Copper Horse Lodge is located in the small village at the Kicking Horse Mountain Resort (KHMR). It’s opposite the pub and an easy 5 minute walk to the gondola. Ski-in could be attempted, but it’s probably also a 5 minute walk back from the gondola.
Rooms
The spacious rooms are beautifully decorated and the large windows provide great views of the mountain. The king or twin beds are luxurious with a capital “L”. Hypo-allergenic goose feather duvets, quality linen and a super-comfortable bed – I’m amazed that I managed to get out of bed to go for a ski. Perhaps it was the lure of the beautiful aromas wafting up from the kitchen?
The en-suite bathrooms are amazing. The shower is so large that you could have a party in there! And for those that need even more space, the large deluxe suite has its own Jacuzzi tub in the bathroom.
Facilities and Amenities
The lodge has a cosy lounge and the best ski storage with heated boot warmers. The outdoor hot tub is a sociable place to hang out, and the bar provides the most amazing service. If you throw a snowball at the window, someone will bring a drink out to the hot tub for you!
Dining
The accommodation is fantastic but the dining at Copper Horse is an absolute highlight. The Corks Restaurant and bar is fantastic for an après drink or dinner. The food is comforting and casual yet refined. The gourmet menu includes appetizers, meat dishes and vegetarian options that can be accompanied by fine Okanagan wines.
A full hot breakfast in the restaurant is included as part of the stay.
Why Stay at the Copper Horse Lodge? There are only a small number of rooms at the lodge, so you’ll receive very special attention. Paul is the hospitality king and will make every guest feel like a VIP.
