Where is Montana Snowbowl?

Located in western Montana, Snowbowl is only 12 miles (20 minutes drive) from the city of Missoula. Snow Park chair lift heads up to TV Mountain, whilst the Lavelle Creek chair lift heads up to Big Sky Mountain, but it shouldn’t be confused with Big Sky Resort Montana which is worlds away geographically and metaphorically.

And needless to say, Montana Snowbowl shouldn’t be confused with Arizona Snowbowl Ski Resort.

Driving to Snowbowl Ski Resort

The address for Montana Snowbowl is 1700 Snowbowl Rd Missoula. Off the I-90, turn off Grant Creek Rd past the C’mon Inn and Grand Creek then throw a left onto Snowbowl Road. The access road is unpaved, but it’s well maintained and not particularly steep or curvy so it’s not too difficult a drive. The small parking lot is also not paved so it can get a bit messy.

Shuttle to Snowbowl

There are cheap shuttles once a day between Missoula and Snowbowl on weekends and holidays. The main pick up is near Grant Creek so it’s mostly for those wanting to avoid driving the access road. There is another pick-up at the University of Montana, so most out-of-towners will want to have their own wheels.

Other Ski Resorts Nearby

There’s an unused and an unfinished ski resort near Missoula, but otherwise major ski resorts that out-of-staters may visit are much further afield.
