Brighton Transport

Flights

Salt Lake City is a major airline hub, so flights into the city are numerous. Brighton is only 36 miles from the SLC airport.

Driving to Brighton

A rental car is not necessary if Brighton is your only destination, but it will certainly assist in providing flexibility to get between other Utah resorts and Salt Lake City.

The traffic up Big Cottonwood Canyon on weekends can be insane and the parking lots gets full very quickly, so get there early and you might also need some patience.

Occasionally the road up Big Cottonwood Canyon is closed for avalanche control, but not as often as in the neighbouring Little Cottonwood Canyon.

Bus to Brighton Ski Resort UT

From downtown SLC, use the UTA TRAX (Utah Transit Authority light rail) to transfer to a UTA ski bus which will take you to Brighton. For those staying in Midvale and Cottonwood Heights, there are various park and ride lots where you can get a bus to Brighton Resort.

Brighton Shuttles

There are various private companies offering transportation to Solitude and Brighton from SLC, Park City or Little Cottonwood Canyon (Snowbird and Alta). Canyon Hop and Canyon Transportation are examples.

Getting Between Brighton & Solitude

To get to and from Solitude, the easiest way is to ski or ride over and back (intermediates and above only), or alternatively the UTA (Utah Transit Authority) have buses between the resorts. This is cheap but the service is not very frequent.

Other Ski Resorts Nearby

Many other Utah ski resorts are very close as the crow flies (and one day these may be inter-connected via the One Wasatch project) and are less than an hour away by road.
