Activities & Tours

Activities around Heavenly and South Lake TahoeThe casinos form a massive part of the local activities near the Heavenly Ski Resort. Apart from the food, bars and gambling, the casinos also have live music, shows and other entertainment. But if the kerching gets too much or if casinos are not your thing, there’s plenty of other stuff that will keep you amused. The area around Heavenly is one big outdoor playground.

Heavenly’s Adventure Peak Adventure Peak at the top of the Heavenly gondola is the epicentre of winter activities. Activities include cross country skiing on 4km of tracks, snow tubing (lift accessed), snow-shoeing, snow biking and zip-lining. The park is open from 10am-3pm daily.

Ski Tours and Activities The area has lots of back-country skiing opportunities including Taylor Creek, Echo Summit, and Echo Lake. The Lake Tahoe area has an abundance of cross country skiing opportunities. The north end of the lake offers more prospects, but the south end also has Nordic skiing trails. In addition to the small area at Adventure Peak, other options in the Heavenly area are Spooner Lake, Hope Valley, Camp Richardson Resort and Kirkwood Cross Country.

Family Activities A cinema and ice skating rink are located at the base of the Heavenly gondola in South Lake Tahoe. The rink is open from noon and into the evening, and skates are available for hire.

Adventure and Outdoor Activities The area has various winter activities on offer including snowmobiling, dog sledding and sleigh rides.

Leisure Activities The Lake Tahoe area is absolutely beautiful and it seems only fitting to see the lake up close. We recommend the Sunset Dinner Cruise on Lake Tahoe onboard the paddle steamer MS Dixie II. Cruise price includes return bus transfers from your accommodation to Zephyr Cove, dinner, and a rocking band on board the MS Dixie II. The cruise runs for about 3 hours and drinks are available at standard bar prices.

Relaxation If you’ve battered your body on the slopes there are a couple of hot springs establishments. Wally’s Hot Springs also provides massage services.
