Accommodation
There is no true on-mountain accommodation at Lake Louise. It’s close by in the village of Lake Louise and is accessible via shuttles. There are also two hotels near the shores of Lake Louise which are another few kilometers away from the village.
If skiing at the Lake Louise resort, other alternatives are
Banff accommodation, Canmore or surrounding areas. Lake Louise has an incredibly mellow nightlife, so if you need some action, it may be best to stay in Banff and get a shuttle bus to Lake Louise.
Lake Louise AccommodationThe
Lake Louise Inn is very close to the ski area and has hotel rooms as well as self contained apartments. This place is popular with families. The nearby
Post Hotel is an upmarket hotel that is elegant and inviting.
The luxurious gem is the
Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise which sits on the shores of the actual lake. It has all the modern conveniences and all the trimmings, which includes valets dressed in ridiculously inappropriate outfits considering the weather.
For budget accommodation the
HI Lake Louise Alpine Centre is a fantastic hostel. We stayed there for a few days and were so impressed that gave it the Powderhounds award for
Best Budget Accommodation in Canada. There are private rooms, or shared rooms with private bathroom or shared bathroom. The Bill Peytos restaurant is fabulous for breakfast or dinner, and just adds to the ambience of this accommodation.
If you don’t want to book your Lake Louise accommodation directly, there are various booking agencies to assist you.
