Accommodation

Naeba Prince Hotel The Prince Hotel is the main Naeba accommodation. The hotel is a series of interconnected towers that are spread across the base of the ski resort. It’s almost like a mini city and possibly the largest ski resort hotel in the world. It takes about 15 minutes to walk from one end to the other!

This western style resort hotel provides a range of hotel rooms including standard twin rooms, family rooms, interconnected rooms and suites. None of the accommodation is self-catering, but there is no shortage of restaurants at the hotel. The hotel wings provide slightly different standards of lodging, but the general focus is on deluxe accommodation. Many of the rooms have views of the slopes, so you can even watch the kids from the comfort of your hotel room if you wish!

The Prince Hotel has amazing advantages; all the facilities you could wish for and the superb convenience of being directly slopeside. See our Naeba Prince Hotel page for more information.

Other Naeba Accommodation More budget oriented accommodation can be found in the nearby town of Naeba. Some of the Naeba accommodation options are just a 5 minute walk to the lifts, whilst others up near the Naeba Asagai ski resort are a 15 minute walk away. The obvious disadvantage of these accommodations is the walk required to get to the ski resort, but other than the cost, an advantage may be a personalised experience, particularly at the pensions.

One example is Lodge Kashiwagi, a pleasant Japanese style pension that has English speaking staff. For an accommodation package that includes breakfast it is only about ¥6,000 per person per night (2011 rates). Naeba town also has various hotels such as the Hotel Honjin Resort West and Asahi Plaza Siesta Naeba 1. The Kinta Hotel is a 6-7 minute walk from the Naeba ski resort and gets good reviews for its friendly Japanese hospitality. Rates for weeknights twin share are ¥10,000 per person per night, and ¥13,000 on weekends.

Kagura Accommodation Other options for non-resort accommodation at Naeba can be found in the Kagura villages of Tashiro and Mitsumata. Prices are inexpensive, accommodation is generally very simple, and commonly English is not well spoken, if at all.

One example is the Mt Naeba Guesthouse at Tashiro village, and near the Mitsumata ropeway is the popular Whitehorse Inn. It looks a little run down, but it’s cheap and cheerful and the owner speaks good English.
