Accommodation
Tomamu has a few resort style accommodation options available. These can only be booked centrally through the resort or via a travel agent. All hotels are slope-side and ski-in ski-out, and breakfast is not included at any of the accommodations.
The
Tower Hotel has two towers located at the base of lift no. 10. The rooms are of a generous size and well equipped with a TV, coffee making facilities and lounge area. Even though the rooms are Western style, they generally only have twin beds but thankfully these are much more comfortable than those back breaking futons. The rooms have proper bathrooms with a bath (not those add on portable fixtures you see in some Japanese hotels). At a cost of around 14,000 yen per night for a twin/double, it represents excellent value. The central location of the Tower Hotel is also great given its proximity and ease of access to everything.
If you want to go really ‘posh’, you could stay at the
Galleria Towers. The suites here are large and include a jacuzzi and sauna. The other option is
Villa Sport which is well suited to families and located near the wave pool (Viz Spa House).
And if you want a really novel experience, you can stay at the Ice Hotel for a night - brrrrrr. The hotel room has chairs, a table and a bed made of ice, so there's a good chance that you'll get too cold and have to retreat to your accommodation at one of the non-ice hotels.
