Tyax Heli Skiing Packages
Nordic Valley Ski Resort in Utah was formerly called Wolf Mountain, Wolf Creek, and …… Nordic Valley! It's obvious difficult to decide on a name!

Think on this. You’ve had a hard weekend skiing the ‘big hills’ in the Upper Ogden Valley. You have slept in and its 9am on a Monday morning. You roll out of your bed at your nearby lodging and peer through the window to see a foot of fresh snow sitting on your rental car. The realisation hits you. You’re going to miss first tracks.............or are you?

Enter stage left - Nordic Valley Utah – with midweek lifts opening at a gentlemanly time of 10am. Let’s face it, if you had the prospect of skiing a foot of premium powder with only a handful of other people, with over 300 metres of vertical for the princely sum of the cost of a couple of burgers for the day (and night), would you accept? Absolutely!

Whilst it is significantly smaller than the nearby Powder Mountain and Snowbasin, Noridc Valley IS in Utah amongst some of the best ski hills in the world. So does it get powder? Of course! Couple that with some great fun terrain, super friendly staff, relaxed family atmosphere and the best hot chocolate in the world (big call I know) then you have a great place to ski. Sleeping in never felt so good.

Nordic Valley Ski and Snowboard Terrain

Whilst it is a petite resort at only 110 acres (45 hectares), the Wolf Mountain aka Nordic Valley ski terrain is available for novices to advanced skiers, and there is a terrain park. The resort doesn’t have steeps and the trees are generally too tight for most mere mortals to ski, but it is FUN, FUN, FUN.

Where is Nordic Valley?

Nordic Valley is located in Utah 25 minutes drive east of Ogden in the Upper Ogden Valley, about 4 km from the small town of Eden, midway between Powder Mountain and Snowbasin.

Lodging and Facilities

There is no lodging at the resort. The nearest accommodation is about 2 miles away in Eden or at Wolf Creek Resort just out of Eden. Nordic Valley has a ski school/ learning centre, cafe/restaurant, and a ski shop (rental and retail).

Why Ski or Snowboard at Nordic Valley?

One of the resort's mottos is ‘Look at the bright side of life’. It is easy to understand why when you are the only person on a chairlift on a powder day. It’s what we dream about isn’t it? Bright side indeed! Put any doubts away. Go here midweek on a powder morning, you won’t regret it. Our photos tell the tale!

Similarly if you have a family and are learning to ski – this is your little piece of paradise.
