The Program

The Private Platinum packages generally run from Friday to Friday however custom dates can be arranged subject to availability.

The travel from Vancouver is the beginning of your adventure; a scenic land transfer up the famous Sea to Sky Corridor through Whistler to Pemberton, and either a land or air transfer into Tyax Wilderness Resort & Spa (which is where the Spirit Bear Lodge is located), home of Tyax Heliskiing. Or skip the landscapes by road and fly directly from Vancouver. The Tyax team will be waiting to greet you and bring you into the lodge.

After a brief safety orientation and some essential paperwork you will have the evening to settle into the spectacular private lodge and / or make use of the amenities over at the main lodge, including the spa, before your first gourmet dinner is served.

Heli-skiing starts first thing the next morning after a hearty breakfast and stretch class. Lunch is served in the mountains and each day after skiing, après ski is served in the lounge and bar. Enjoy COMPLIMENTARY massage treatments and body work, or some relaxation in the Jacuzzi, infrared sauna, wood sauna, or eucalyptus steam room.

On the final day of skiing, guests will return to the lodge at lunchtime and prepare for their departure. Air transfers depart from the lodge back to Pemberton, followed by a land transfer to Vancouver. 3 day packages depart from the lodge by land back to Vancouver after a full day of skiing.

Potential Add-On
Because of the proximity to Whistler Blackcomb ski resort, it is very easy to add on a few days prior to your Tyax Heliskiing Package. This is a great way to warm up the legs ready for the deep powder in the backcountry. Tyax can package this for you or you can arrange this yourself here>>

Spirit Bear Lodge

The Spirit Bear Lodge is an exclusive 9 bedroom ultra-luxurious wilderness hideaway located adjacent to the main Tyax lodge.

The lodge comes fully equipped for après ski rejuvenation with its own sauna, jacuzzi tub, massage room and solarium overlooking the garden & lake. Curling up round the giant stone fireplace in one of the large leather chairs, or soaking up the day’s last rays in the solarium overlooking the lake while your private chef prepares a gourmet feast, it’s hard to imagine wanting to be anywhere else. The Tyax Platinum experience is as good as it gets.

The Spirit Bear Chalet also features a surround sound and 50” plasma TV screen with satellite service, media room/play area on lower level, with seating, and TV, a fire pit and garden.

Complimentary WIFI is available throughout the building and in the rooms, however access may be limited due to the remote location of the lodge. There is no mobile phone service.

The lodge has 9 bedrooms split over 3 levels. Rooms have either a king bed, queen bed or twin beds and feature pillow top mattresses, feather pillows, premium Egyptian cotton bed linen and a private en suite.

Tyax Heliskiing offers a sophisticated culinary experience that will both nourish the body and please the senses. To begin with, they make sure the pantry is well-stocked. Starting with a large buffet-style spread of breakfast favourites, they will send you into the mountains with the nutrients you need to ski hard all morning.

On-Mountain Dining
Every lift in the machine is another opportunity to grab a snack and some water or Gatorade so you will never find yourself struggling through a run or waiting for lunchtime or apres ski appetizers.

Lunch is served in the mountains; with a perfect backdrop for taking a break, you will enjoy wraps and sandwiches, alongside soup, hot tea, snacks, chocolate, and even hand-made espresso, freshly pressed for a shot of caffeine to start the afternoon.

In the kitchen there is a raised bar area where after a full day of skiing, guests will be served a warm Apres-Ski and be invited to spend some time in the lounge with a beverage before hitting the spa, resting before dinner, or hanging out with our staff right until dinner.

Dining Room
A 3-course dinner is hosted in the beautiful fireside 10 seat dinning room, creating the perfect ambience for an evening of delicious cuisine, fine wine and shared stories of deep and steep days with new and old friends.

Tyax menus are carefully crafted with an eye for variety and originality. Emphasis is placed, wherever possible, on using locally sourced ingredients and the chefs love creating mouth-watering and high energy meals to keep your palette happy and your legs strong. The talented and dedicated culinary team will delight you with exquisite samplings of contemporary western favourites.

Covid Related T&Cs

Considering the COVID-19 pandemic, we have adjusted our 2021 booking policies to help ease the decision-making process for our guests that wish to book an upcoming heliski adventure here at Tyax Lodge & Heliskiing. We have introduced a ‘no questions asked’ refund policy effective until NOVEMBER 30, 2020. Any new heliski reservation deposit (or payments) are 100% refundable until that date. As of DECEMBER 1, 2020, our regular cancellation policy will apply (note balance payments remain fully refundable until 90 days prior to arrival date). After NOVEMBER 30, 2020, if a guest cannot travel for their 2021 heliski trip due to travel restrictions imposed by his/her country and/or Canada due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Tyax will credit the full amount paid toward a future trip with us. This credit will be valid for one season and is non-transferable.

Usual Booking Terms & Conditions

DEPOSIT DETAILS

Tyax Heliskiing packages are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Your package is confirmed once we receive the following deposit (per seat): $2,000 CDN Non-Refundable Deposit is Due Upon Booking for Signature Packages. 20% CDN Non-Refundable Deposit Due for Small Groups and Platinum Packages

Once we receive your deposit we will reserve your seat until the full payment due date. If you do not send a deposit by the agreed date we will release your booking and reserve the right to sell the package to another party. Your final payment is due 90 weeks prior to your arrival day and your reservation will automatically be cancelled if we do not receive full payment by this date.

PAYMENT OPTIONS

Our payment options make it easy for you to secure your Tyax Heliskiing package. We accept some major credit cards (Visa or MasterCard), debit cards, money orders and bank wires (in Canadian or US funds only).

CANCELLATIONS

1. If it becomes necessary to cancel a reservation, written notification of the cancellation is required. Cancellation must be confirmed, also in writing, by Tyax Lodge & Heliskiing.
2. The guest is responsible for the full payment of the reservation should there be no written confirmation or cancellation.
3. Tyax Lodge & Heliskiing reserves the right to cancel any package at any time; full refunds will be given if this is the case.
4. Cancellations made with more than 90 days remaining prior to the package commencement date will be refunded less their initial deposit.
5. Cancellations made less than 90 days prior to the package comment date will receive NO REFUND. If the cancelled reservation can be re-sold to another guest that assumes the same contractual obligations, and only if the cancelled space is still available, a change of reservation fee of $500 will apply.
6. The cancellation of pre and post accommodation is non-transferable within 35 days.
7. The cancellation of additional helicopter time and private transfers is not refundable within 30 days.

REFUND POLICY

No refund is given for any unused portion of your package due to injury, illness, poor physical fitness, or skiing ability. There is no refund if you choose not to participate in an activity or return to the lodge early. Refunds given due to inclement weather or mechanical breakdown will be according to the vertical guarantee of the package. Tyax Lodge & Heliskiing reserves the right to cancel any package at any time; full refunds will be given if this is the case.

TRANSFER POLICY

All Signature Packages include a combination of land and air transfers for inbound and outbound travel. Platinum Packages include air transfers for inbound and outbound travel.

Packages which do not fall into the above categories are subject to transfer conditions agreed upon during the booking procedure. Transfers by helicopter are not confirmed until the day of the transfer. Tyax reserves the right to cancel air transfers due to weather conditions, lack of demand or capacity issues. Tyax also reserves the right to schedule vehicle transfers instead of air transfer as needed.

Upgraded helicopter transfers, paid for in addition to a regular package price, will be refunded if the service cannot be provided. Air transfers included in packages will receive NO REFUND if the flight must be cancelled. Each guest must ensure that Tyax is told of the location of their Vancouver/Whistler hotels at least 60 days prior to arrival, so that transfers can be arranged for their closest pick-up and drop-off locations. It is the guests’ responsibility to get to the designated pick-up location 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time. If the guest misses the transfer then it is their responsibility to pay for any alternative arrangements made. Transfers and travel times are contingent upon Tyax being able to deliver these services without interference beyond the control of management, such as accidents, acts of God, road closures, government requisitions, and other causes whether enumerated herein or not. Therefore, Tyax strongly discourages scheduling domestic and international flights on the day of inbound and outbound travel to and from the resort. Tyax cannot be held responsible for any cost incurred due to missed flights and/or delayed luggage.

LIABILITY & WAIVER FORMS

All guests must be made aware of the inherent risks of mountainous areas in winter weather conditions Each participant will be required to sign a copy of the RELEASE OF LIABILITY. WAIVER OF CLAIMS, and ASSUMPTION OF RISKS AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT before being allowed to ski with Tyax Lodge & Heliskiing.

All claims, irrespective of the nationality of the participants, shall be governed in all respects by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Province of British Columbia, Canada.

INSURANCE

1. It is highly recommended that all guests purchase trip cancellation insurance
2. It is highly recommended that all guests purchase trip interruption insurance
3. It is highly recommended that all guests purchase medical insurance

Tyax Lodge & Heliskiing recommends insurance to cover medical helicopter evacuation, cancellation, trip interruption, and any other variance from the regular booking and delivery of a Heliskiing package. Tyax Lodge & Heliskiing is not responsible for compensation for any payment covered by available insurance. Insurance coverage can be provided at the direction of the Travel Agent/Operator. Tyax Lodge & Heliskiing does not provide this insurance.  

PHOTOGRAPHY POLICY

All participants in the heliskiing program may be photographed by professional photographers, guides or guests over their holiday. Permission is granted to Tyax Heliskiing Ltd, and its partners to use photos of all guests (or likeness thereof) for marketing and promotional purposes.
