Our stay at the Grand Summit Lodge was incredibly convenient from a location perspective. The slopes were just steps away from the hotel, and it was nice to sit for a drink at the Red Tail and watch the stragglers come in off the slopes. The village has little nightlife, but it was a nice spot to get away from the craziness just before the Sundance Festival in downtown Park City.

We stayed in a one bedroom suite which had a very spacious living area, although the bedroom itself was rather tight. Whilst the bed was very comfortable, we didn’t have great sleeps. The fireplace had a rattle which continued even when it wasn’t turned on, and our room was right outside a utilities area and at 6am each morning, trucks would pull in and we’d hear the noisy garbage trolleys. When we mentioned this to the staff on a few occasions, we weren’t able to move rooms, and they didn’t seem too keen to get maintenance to do something about the fireplace.

We really enjoyed the pool and hot tubs, and the Red Tail Grill. The coffee at the café was very poor so we used to frequent the coffee place in the Sundial Lodge instead.

Regarding value, keep an eye out for a massive resort fee per day.

Overall this was a very good place to stay, despite the service that was rather lackadaisical.
