This ski tour was spectacular. Portillo and its surroundings are truly a landscape that I have never seen in my life. The size of the mountains with steep slopes and the turquoise-colored Laguna del Inca at the base made me want to stay forever.

Our skiing level is advanced off-piste and the slopes and backcountry in Portillo really brought out the best in us.

The accommodation and everything that was included made our rest after the ski days perfect.

If you haven't had the opportunity to visit Portillo, I recommend doing it with Andes Touring because they have a team of professionals who really know the mountain like the back of their hand.

I hope my body and my husband's stay in shape so we can visit another destination with the agency in that beautiful corner of the world.

We hit up this tour with Andes Touring, along with 2 other snowboarders. It was practically a private tour and the level of customization these guys provide is insane. Every moment of the trip was meticulously planned and the level of snow we were able to ride was epic.

We're counting down the days until we can come back to Chile and hit the Andes with Mario and his team again, maybe this time heading further south to check out the volcanoes!

Mario was a fantastic ski tour operator. He and I had a number of conversations to figure out how to best accomodate our multiple needs: arrange for one of us to downhill ski near Santiago while the other was working in Santiago, then set us up for a long week of back country skiing for two advanced skiers in search of some serious back country challenge and one homebody only interested in a comfortable hotel.

It worked out perfectly! My son had 3 excellent days of skiing in La parva staying overnight with Mario and getting the inside scoop on the resort. We then headed out to Malalcahuello where we simply had the back country experience of a lifetime, skiing in untouched powder among the araucarias (I definitely recommend it!!) Mario had arranged for top quality ski rentals and simply the best back country guide anyone could hope for (Forrest).
