We spent 10 mesmurizing days in Gulmarg and fell in love with this place thanks to Kashmir Heliski. All of our accommodations and schedule were organized by Billa, the director of Kashmir Heliski. The hotel, Heliski, skiing in and off the resort, experienced guide ( Mushtaq) were all top notch to the highest standards. Kashmir Heliski team were extremely professional, courteous and flexible to our needs. Their mission is 100% costumer satisfaction. They use the very best helicopter with the most experienced European pilots. We came to Gulmarg as costumers and left as friends. Billa, the director of Kashmir Heliski was one of the most professional, passionate and courteous people I have ever met. Our Guide, Mushtaq was very experienced and great to be with and just a beautiful soul with amazing energy. I highly recommend Mushtaq if you happen to be skiing in Gulmarg. The best way I can describe our experience on the mountain is endless terrains with insane amount of powder and magical tree runs. Every run we did was a new experience with the lightest powder I have ever skied on and the landscape was breathtaking. If you happen to arrange a package with Kashmir Heliski I highly recommend spending your last night in Srinagar boat house. You will be blown away guaranteed.

We had a mixed group of 2 advanced skiiers and 2 who hadn't Heli skiied before, our guide took us on a mixture of lines starting with mellow ones and making sure we all feel confident, Kashmir Heliski can cater for everyone's needs, definitely book a trip suitable for all abilities

Be careful with these guys- although they were recommended by reputable experts, our group had a bad experience with them.

Short version- we took a heli day in February 2019. Through no fault of Billa (the owner & lead guide) and his team, the heli was put out of action by the Indian military while we were out in the heli terrain (nothing wrong with the heli, just an unsafe issue related to military issues).

After several hours fruitlessly waiting to see if we would be able to access another way of getting out of the terrain, ideally by heli, what happened next was pretty shocking- Billa (and 2 of his remaining guides) left his combined group of 1 dozen or so clients (from 3 heli groups) to find a way out, and left us. We found our own way out of very dangerous avalanche terrain, following his tracks through a narrow valley that was constantly avalanched. When we confronted him about this (when we finally caught up with him), he explained that it was 'too dangerous' for him to lead the group out and wait.

The skiing was off-the-scale, with bottomless, perfect powder and stunning terrain. But this was a really shocking experience and without a lot of really good luck we would have been in a terrible situation with no guides and no way out.

I'd love to go there again but would only do so with one of Bills Trips' reputable guides- and expecting the worst while hoping for the best.

I think it is really important to call out dangerous practices- this was as bad as it gets.

Thanks for an awesome trip Kashmir Heliski we just returned and we're lucky to have 1 week full Heli ski we went up to 4200m and rode over 1000 vertical metres some lines! The terrain is vast and we enjoyed untouched powder everyday. Can't wait to return
