Gorgeous Location

The Wanaka Edgewater Resort is a fabulous place to stay, and the waterfront location is superb. We had an apartment right next to the lake and the serenity associated with looking across the lake and mountains was hard to beat. We even had little ducks sitting at our front door. The views from the restaurant and bar are also gorgeous.

You wouldn’t describe the Wanaka Edgewater Resort as being luxurious. Whilst the central building is very upscale, the studios and apartments are more old style, but they’ve been recently refurbished so they’re rather pleasant. The accommodation could be described as very comfortable and functional, with the main attraction being the beautiful setting.

The kitchenette was very simple with a microwave, cook top and basic crockery. We mainly ate out and enjoyed the great Wanaka restaurants and bars, so the kitchen was more than adequate. The rest of the living area was rather large with plenty of space to spread out. The absolute highlight was the corner nook – perfect for lounging, reading a book and admiring the views.

This resort has great facilities and the bar and restaurant were beautiful. We’d definitely recommend having après drinks (after a soak in the hot tub) and dinner at the resort.

All in all, the Wanaka Edgewater Resort was a great place to stay and appreciate Lake Wanaka.
