One of the Best Locations in Town

The Crowne Plaza pretty much has the best location in town, and this is where you get a sizeable part of your value for money. Located next to the lake yet in central Queenstown, it’s perfectly convenient as well as picturesque.

There are great views from many of the hotel rooms. The views aren’t as awesome as some other Queenstown properties, but these are located out of central Queenstown where you don’t have the ultimate convenience factor.

The hotel is in reasonable condition and the rooms are very nice without being opulent.

The service was a stand-out feature of the hotel, in reception as well as the restaurant. The concierge was also a very helpful service. They weren’t just there to make commissions from bookings but were also very helpful with free activities and restaurant suggestions.

It’s worth having a meal or two at the 360 restaurant. It has nice views of the lake during the day and it provides great people watching opportunities at any time of the day. The only limitation is that you feel a little like you’re in a fish bowl as those walking past outside can also do some people watching right back at you! The restaurant has a nice ambience and the food is lovely.

The hotel doesn’t have many facilities, but you really don’t need them in Queenstown. The only limitation of the hotel was the painfully slow yet expensive wireless internet service, although this problem seems common to a lot of New Zealand hotels.

We’d definitely recommend a stay at the Crowne Plaza hotel. See our video here
