Itinerary
The full 8-day tour starts and finishes in Tbilisi or Kutaisi. Whilst the tour can be fully customised, the standard itinerary includes 2 nights at Gudauri where you get to ski with your guide in & around the resort for the afternoon of the first day and the next two full days. On the evening of the third day the group travels by road to Bakuriani to ski its untouched powder slopes & forests. After a day exploring Bakuriani, the group will be transported to Goderdzi for 3 nights in a local 5-star ski-in ski-out hotel and 2 days of cat-skiing. Later on day seven, you return to Tbilisi but not before sampling some more of the local culture by dabbling in a little cheese making as part of your lunch at a UNESCO cultural heritage site.
Have more time? The guides will be happy to spend more time showing you all the sights and skiing Georgia has to offer. Send us an inquiry to customize your experience.

Snow & Terrain
Gudauri’s modern ski lifts and nearly 1,300m of vertical make it a destination not to miss. Wide open alpine terrain, sweeping views of the Greater Caucasus, and world-class lift-accessed freeride descents characterize the ski area. With a range of steepness and terrain facing all aspects, there’s something for everybody in all weather in Gudauri. The continental climate can cause avalanche danger which should not be underestimated, but our experienced local guides know the safest routes.
Bakuriani has managed to fly under the radar of international travelers, meaning its steep and deep tree skiing is almost always pristine. High-speed lifts enable dozens of laps of some of the best forest imaginable, as well as exposed alpine terrain and a huge potential for lift-assisted ski tours. Bakuriani’s snow depth is generally between that of Gudauri and Goderdzi, and in our opinion is Georgia’s best-kept secret.
Goderdzi consists of rolling mountaintops, perfectly-spaced pine and beech forest, and Georgia’s deepest snowpack. Terrain ranges from mellow to moderate with isolated steep sections, lots of playful pillows and jumps, and the unique experience of skiing between snowed-in wooden houses in abandoned mountainside villages. We come here for powder and almost always leave satisfied.
Accommodation & Meals
Seven nights of comfortable accommodation in double/twin rooms including breakfast every day, welcome dinner, and farewell dinner are included in the price. Accommodation is in the boutique Ati Ambavi Hotel in Gudauri, where each unique room represents a story of a famous historical Georgian. In Bakuriani, we stay in elegant and stylish Rooms Kokhta with ski-in/ski-out access. The luxurious Ambassadori Hotel & Spa awaits us in Goderdzi, isolated below a distant mountain pass accessed by snowcat. On the last night we stay in Rooms Hotel Tbilisi, the urban twin of our Bakuriani hotel. Your guide will be with you for the entire trip and will always be ready to recommend the best dining locations & dishes plus favorite après spots. Upgrading to single rooms is possible for an additional fee.
For more detailed information on food & accommodation, see the Lodging tab.
Guides
Georgia’s mountains are wild and there is no avalanche control in backcountry ski zones, so we only work with the best guides who have the highest safety standards. All trips are led by a GMGA-certified backcountry ski guide who speaks fluent English and not only keeps you safe on the mountain, but also provides an exceptionally fun and exciting travel experience. We also have German and Czech-speaking guides available. The maximum guide-to-guest ratio during the tour will be 1:4.
Ski Ability & Customising Your Tour
This ski safari requires a minimum experience level of riding off-piste powder on mellow terrain. Our destinations include a range of descent options from intermediate powder runs to very steep experts-only chutes and everything in between. It is important that everyone in the group is at a similar level in order to ride together comfortably.
For those who wish to explore Georgia’s backcountry on a ski safari but do not have experience riding powder, we also offer off-piste ski courses to brush up on your technique before setting out into the wild. All of our guides are also qualified ski and snowboard instructors who are happy to help you improve your technique.
