Skiare Ski Tours SILVER Packages

Explore the amazing Dolomites with our tour partner Skiare in a small group of like-minded & skilled skiers. With over 1,290km of groomed ski runs, the Dolomiti Superski is the world's largest ski area on one pass. Yes, big really does mean better when it comes to skiing the pistes of the Dolomites! With an enormous variety of ski runs, there is something to satisfy every level of skiing ability.

Skiare has world-class instructors & guides that will not only improve your skiing, but have local expertise in carefully considering and planning a day perfectly suited to you and/or your group. Skiare Ski Instructors & Guides have daily meetings and discussions, check weather conditions and forecasts, share knowledge with fellow locals, and ensure that lunch is booked at the best mountain huts in the region. There is always a generous serving of fun, excitement and laughter on the menu.

Some of the most popular ski days are:

The SILVER Package Advantage

SILVER packages are based on MIXED GROUPS, so you (as a solo traveller or couple) or your family or group of friends can join a group of similar ability skiers & boarders with a private instructor/guide keeping the overall costs of the package down. The maximum group size is 8 guests per instructor/guide.

For Who are Silver Packages Best Suited?

The Silver ski package is best suited to singles, groups of friends & families looking for a fun ski experience with a mixed group of like-minded people. Because these packages are for mixed groups, you [and your family/friends(s)] will be allocated into a group based on ability. Where possible, if you have family or friends of differing abilities, Skiare will try and keep your group together provided the abilities aren't too far apart.

If you have a group with skiers & snowboarders, you will be assigned with an instructor that can teach both disciplines.

The Location

You will stay in the heart of the Dolomites in one the Alta Badia ski resort villages including San Cassiano, Corvara, La Villa or Colfosco. Alta Badia is located about 120 km from Innsbruck, 300 km from Munich & 200 km from Venice. Most guests fly direct into Venice (VCE) airport, where you will be met and transported directly to your ski resort accommodation. Other points of entry and pick-up include airports at Innsbruck (INN) & Munich (MUC) or Bolzano train station.

Accommodation Options

There is a wide variety of lodging options ranging from self-catering apartment-style accommodation & holiday homes, small boutique hotels, and larger 3 to 5-star hotels. See some examples of the options in the Lodging tab.

Skiare SILVER Package Sample Itinerary

The following itinerary is designed to show how a week-long SILVER ski package with Skiare would look, however it will ultimately be determined by weather and the best conditions each day.

Day 1 - Arrival day

Welcome to Alta Badia. Prepare to go skiing.

  • Transfer to Accommodation: Guests are met at their nominated pick up point i.e. Venice Airport, Bolzano etc, and transferred to Alta Badia in a comfortable 9-seater Mercedes van (or equivalent).
  • Check In and Lunch: After checking into your accommodation and making yourself comfortable, a Skiare Ski Tour team member will meet you and escort you to the ski rental shop for assistance with ski rental equipment and any purchases that maybe necessary.
  • Ski Passes & Skiing Next Morning: Once ski hire has been completed the Skiare Ski Tours team member will provide you with your ski passes and discuss the plans, weather, snow conditions, meeting point etc. for the next morning and your first day skiing on the mountain. This is a great time to ask any questions or discuss any expectations you might have for the coming week, i.e. helicopter rides, special occasions and more.

Day 2 - Introduction to the Ski Area

  • Meet with your Ski Instructor: Meet with your ski instructor at the top of a gondola @ 9:30am.
  • Finding your Ski Legs: The first morning skiing is a great chance to find your comfort zone and familiarise yourself with your equipment. With your ski instructor giving you as much or as little instruction as you like, begin to discover the area of Alta Badia. Your instructor is also your local guide so expect to learn some interesting cultural, historical, sporting and geographical facts and info.
  • Lunch & Afternoon Ski: Lunch is always a highlight and carefully chosen and booked by your ski instructor. Enjoy a great afternoon of skiing, including the Alta Badia villages of San Cassiano, Corvara, La Villa and even Colfosco if you are keen.

Day 3 - Sella Ronda

  • Explore the Neighbouring Valleys: Depending on weather and conditions, your ski instructor will guide you around the Sella Mountain group clockwise or anti-clockwise through 4 different valleys. Skiing and distances certainly step up a notch and with many of the runs being well over 4 to 5km long, lunch is a welcomed rest for weary legs.
  • Lunch and Ski Back to Alta Badia: After a hearty lunch with a good Italian vino, continue to explore the surrounding terrain and perhaps test your skills on the Men’s World Cup Downhill race track in Val Gardena. Return to Alta Badia before the lifts close and enjoy an après ski drink or two.

Day 4 - Discover Lagazuoi and the Frontline of WW1

  • Lagazuoi and the Cinque Torri: Start your day with a warm up ski around Alta Badia before heading to the village of San Cassiano. From here you will take a 20min vehicle transfer to the area of Lagazuoi and the Cinque Torri (5 Towers). The skiing and views towards Cortina and Venice are simply stunning, with a real birds eye view of the Dolomites. Handmade pasta is on the menu for lunch along with plenty of delicious Italian desserts - prosecco cake being a popular choice.
  • WW1 & the Hidden Valley: Take the Lagazuoi cable car right into the middle of the Dolomites and the front line of WW1. See the tunnels which were built by the Austrian and Italian soldiers as they battled for 18 long months and often in sub zero temperatures. After taking in the history and views, enjoy one of the Dolomites longest one way ski runs down through one of the most picturesque places winter has to offer. Stop for a schnapps or BBQ grill at the Scotoni Hut before skiing past frozen water falls and down onto the dry river bed. From here you will take one of skiing oldest forms of ski lifts: the horse and cart. Join fellow skiers as you are rope-towed behind a traditional horse and sleigh before returning to Armentarola and Alta Badia. Lagazuoi and the Cinque Torri are always a highlight of any skiing week and live in the memories of our guests forever.

Day 5 - Explore the Val Gardena

  • Ski past a 15th century castle & one of the longest runs in the Dolomites: Heading over the Gardena Pass and into Selva, the group will make its way to St. Cristina where you will ski past the fairytale Fischburg Castle. Take a fun mountain subway train (funicular) connecting you to the Col Raiser ski area. From the top of Seceda a 10km run awaits you on your way to lunch in a 16th century farm house. By the time you’ve returned to Alta Badia you would have skied close to 45km and that is without extra runs.

Day 6 - Ski the Classic Olympic Town of Cortina d’Ampezzo

  • Cortina d’Ampezzo: Enjoy a private vehicle transfer across the Falzarego Pass to Cortina. In Cortina you can ski some of the steepest runs the Dolomites have to offer. Follow the ski tracks of past Olympians or find your inner James Bond and relieve some of the scenes from ‘For your Eyes Only’. At the end of your skiing day you can switch your skiing boots for your designer walking shoes to join the parade through the beautiful town centre & pedestrianised Corso Italia.

Day 7 - Experience the Tre Cime Tour

  • Ski - Road - Train - Fly: Nothing like finishing on a high note. This tour will take you to Kronplatz, a favourite destination for many of our guests with its long winding ski runs. Take the run down to Ried where you will then take the train to your next destination of 3 Peaks Dolomites ski area. With 93km of groomed skiing terrain 3 Peaks Dolomites is also home of the steepest groomed ski run in Italy. Lunch is enjoyed at the Henn Stoll hut which is filled with plenty of atmosphere and great food. For those who are keen why not test your skiing skills and courage on the ‘Holzwiese’, the steepest ski run in Italy (71% gradient/700m long/300m vertical). Once you have your breath back it is time for the VIP transfer to Alta Badia. Your 20 min helicopter ride will take you past some of the Dolomites most iconic peaks: Tre Cime, Cristallo, Tofana, Cinque Torri and Lagazuoi before landing back in Alta Badia.

Day 8 - Departure day and Arrivederci Dolomiti

  • Transfer to your next destination: After many fond farewells don't say goodbye to your hosts & new friends (the other guests!) but rather see you again next year. You are driven to your nominated drop-off destination i.e: Venice Airport, Bolzano etc, in a comfortable 9-seater Mercedes Van (or equivalent).
