Ski 6 days with LGA’s local IFMGA guides deep into the heart of the Arlberg and Silvretta ski regions that spread over countless valleys of powder. Over the course of the week the group will ski the many surrounding resorts and backcountry zones that make up the Ski Arlberg and Silvretta Arena. Endless backcountry and powder lines with thousands of feet of vertical through the Austrian alps. For 3 days ski the legendary off-piste runs in St Anton around the Valluga, Lech & Zurs before travelling to Ischgl & Samnaun for another 3 days of epic riding. No trip to the Tyrol is complete without a stop at the Mooserwirt or one of the many other legendary slopeside apres hot-spots. At Ischgl enjoy the terrain & views before skiing the border of two countries. The diversity of terrain & ski resorts available will leave you speechless.

The ski history of St Anton has roots to the beginning of modern day skiing, including the first ski school & countless awards for being one of the top ski resorts in the world. The Arlberg region is known for deep powder, vast terrain with over 500 km of piste-off piste runs and 88 lifts to some of the best skiing of your life. The Ischgl-Samnaun ski resort spans over two countries (Austria-Switzerland), sits on the third largest ski area in the Tyrol region in Austria & has been owned by the locals since the resort was founded in 1961. St Anton and Ischgl are both well known for their culinary offerings, great restaurants, and one of the best apres ski scenes in the world.

The Skiing Experience

Skiing in the Austrian Alps is a must do for all skiers and snowboarders. Skiing the Arlberg and Silvretta regions are amongst the most favored in the world for their abundant snowfall, expansive terrain, and endless backcountry areas to explore with our guides that have lived in these regions for multiple generations. Ski classic runs like the Valluga with a 2,700 foot vertical descent. It is one of the longest most consistent ski runs in Austria. A dream run on a powder day, it might just be the best run of your life! Enjoy the ease of access to some of the best skiing in Austria right out the door with over 88 lifts in St Anton and 45 state of the art lifts in Ischgl. The Piz Val Gronda is one of the best trams in the Alps and offers access to 3,000 vertical feet of freeride backcountry skiing above Ischgl and Switzerland. The Arlberg and Silvretta areas have some of the most expansive off piste-backcountry zones accessible by lifts in the world with endless options to ski over the course of a week.

St Anton– The off piste-freeride playground of Austria. Ski long powder descents, open bowls, trees and endless valleys to ski. Ischgl– A historic town in the Austrian Alps located in the Paznaun valley & part of the Silvretta ski region. Famous for off-piste skiing and lift served terrain with some of the most high-tech lifts in the world, it is a true skiers' mountain. Spanning over two countries, Ischgl and the surrounding resorts (including Samnaun in Switzerland) sit in a perfect valley that receives lots of snow from all directions. The Culinary Experience

Every morning you will be treated with hearty traditional Austrian breakfasts before we start our ski day in the Tyrol. The LGA Guides will host 2 group dinners (Welcome & Farewell) at a couple of our local favorite restaurants so everyone gets a chance to try the dishes that make this area special. Austrian meals are known for their quality, local ingredients and the restaurant/food options around St Anton and Ischgl are world class. Each region we visit has its own unique flavor that you can experience in every meal or local food that you try. During the week the group will have lunches at various mountain huts, restaurants and cafe’s while you take in the 360′ Austrian Mountain views. The Apres scene is regarded as one of the best in the world and after a day of skiing powder, there is nothing quite like a refreshing beverage while celebrating and apres the Austrian way!.

Ability & Equipment

This tour requires that you are a strong intermediate & above skier with a good level of fitness as there will be some touring involved. You need not have had any touring experience before however you should be able to ski moderate off-piste slopes in control and steep black groomed runs in control. As this tour includes off-piste skiing and some backcountry touring you will require the appropriate equipment including avalanche safety gear and touring setup with skins for your skis. If you don't have this equipment, LGA can arrange rentals for you.
