Yes Tours

Yes Tours provide dedicated ski and snowboard improvement programs at Whistler. The improvement packages can include accommodation as well as social events and are a week long, however most people stay for two or more weeks to get the ultimate benefit from the program.

Yes Tours – Ski and Snowboard Improvement

Yes Tours have over 15 years of experience providing ski and snowboard improvement programs. Yes Improvement courses are a great way to improve skiing or riding technique for confident beginners up to advanced skiers or snowboarders. The courses focus on individual attention, with small group sizes and top level ski and snowboard instructors (CSIA & CASI Level 4s). The courses range from single week improvement courses, right up to 11 week professional instructor training courses.

Ski school lessons for a day or two can fix a couple of technique problems, but Yes programs are so much more. Group sizes are small so you’ll be with like-minded people of the same ability level. With Yes you come away from your holiday as a remarkably better skier or snowboarder.

It is possible to just purchase the ski or snowboard tuition, but many people choose to enrol in the whole package. Yes put all the land components of a ski holiday together including transfers, accommodation, lift passes, and après and social functions. Other inclusions are in-resort service, video analysis and lift line queue priority – gotta love not being stuck in lift lines!

Even though the main benefit of Yes programs is the tuition, these tours offer a great chance to meet people which can be particularly good for people travelling alone.

Each week follows the same timetable.
Sunday: Group allocation and guiding day
Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday: Tuition day including video analysis
Wednesday/Saturday: Rest day

Instructor Courses

Ski and snowboard instructors have the best jobs and having the appropriate qualifications allows you to travel the world and work in ski resorts – it sure beats washing dishes at a restaurant! Yes run a variety of instructor courses from entry-level courses for CSIA level 1 certification to CSIA level 2 and CSCF Level 1 certification. The packages include the exam fees and many other inclusions – check out the Yes website for details. They can even provide assistance in gaining employment upon successful completion of the examinations.

What the Powderhounds Love About Yes

Two of the Powderhounds correspondents went “back to school” and experienced the Yes program first hand. Some of the aspects they loved about Yes:
  • All the staff at Yes! really do live up to their namesake and nothing is too much trouble.
  • The instructors have an amazing knowledge of the mountain and know where the secret stashes and little drop-offs are. Without this local knowledge, you’d never find even half these areas, and you get to improve your technique as part of the bargain.
  • The small group size is great and allows for individual attention.
  • The instruction including the video analysis really improves technique and can iron out bad habits that may have developed over years.
  • The tuition can include tips for tricks, and any nervousness or self-consciousness about the terrain park is quickly overcome.
  • With Yes you get to meet new ski and snowboard buddies.
