Wagner Custom Skis

  • Whistler Heli Skiing has a massive tenure so the guides have a huge choice of runs to find the best snow and the best runs for the conditions.
  • The location and style of single day trips with Whistler Heli Skiing affords flexibility in many respects. Heli and resort skiing can be easily combined, and if partners or family members don’t want to go heli skiing, there are plenty of alternative activities on offer in Whistler.
  • The Whistler Heli Ski operation has highly professional and experienced guides. Most of the guides have been there for years, if not decades. Why would they leave such a good job?!
  • There are a great range of helicopters and packages to tailor the day to your requirements and different ability levels. In particular, Whistler Heli Skiing can cater really well to first timer heli skiers and heli boarders, and those with limited powder experience.
  • The après festivities include the viewing of the video footage and photographs of the day. You can relive the excitement of heli-skiing forever.

  • Like the other Whistler heli skiing companies, the “Whistler currency” is applied to the cost of the heli skiing, and the package doesn’t include complimentary rental of powder skis and snowboards for the first heli ski day.
  • The snow quality is generally pretty good because the heli skiing is at high elevations, however due to the proximity to the coast, the powder tends to have a higher moisture content than heliski operators further inland. Of course the advantage of “Whistler powder” is that the snowpack tends to be more stable than in the BC interior, with an increased likelihood of being able to ski steeper pitches.
  • Two of the Whistler Heli Skiing packages involve large groups. Whilst they attempt to group riders by ability level, the guides have to cater to the weakest skier in the group so expert riders might not get to the steeps. Strong riders should make the investment in the 6 run Ultimate Excursion package (small group heli skiing).
For a more detailed Whistler Heli Skiing review you can check out our heli ski ratings to see how Whistler Heli Skiing compares to other heli skiing operations on a range of factors such as terrain, powder, value, and safety. As a guide to ratings, a 5/5 equates to absolutely phenomenal, 4/5 is excellent, whilst 3/5 is still a very good score.
