Purcell Heli Skiing Packages

Purcell Heli Skiing can cater to first time heli skiers who are looking for a once in a lifetime adventure or those that are completed addicted to the joy of heli skiing. You can choose from a 1 Day Heli Experience, 2 Day Heli-Ski Immersion, or 3 Day Heli-Ski Ultimate Package.

Purcell Heli Ski packages include guiding and use of powder skis, ski poles, or snowboard and avalanche safety equipment. And you won’t go hungry with a hearty mountainside lunch included.

You can partake as a solo skier/boarder or smaller group or keep it exclusive with your own posse of up to 6 guests. The group consists of 6 guests and 2 guides, and the group doesn't have to share the helicopter with anyone else.

Conveniently the meeting spot is at Winston Lodge at Kicking Horse Resort, and you can meet your guides at 8am. You will have access to free parking, restroom facilities and safe storage of personal belongings while out in the backcountry.

Ability Level

To enjoy the day to its fullest, guests should be able to ski/ride with confidence on all advanced terrain at a ski resort (including trees) and be in good physical shape. Some off-piste (off the groomers) skiing or riding experience is essential. Deep powder experience is an asset but not required.

For more information about terrain and the company, see the Purcell Heli Skiing overview.

Typical Daily Itinerary

The day commences at 8:00 am at the Winston Lodge at Kicking Horse (adjacent to the Copper Horse Lodge). Before heading out, an avalanche safety briefing is held at the lodge and any rental equipment is adjusted to your requirements.

During the day a hearty lunch is served in the mountains.

You will arrive back at Kicking Horse somewhere around 3 - 4 pm depending on the speed of your group & number of runs you end up doing.

Please contact us for availability requests and further information.

CURRENCY Purcell Heli-Skiing lists, charges and refunds (if applicable) fees in Canadian dollars exclusively. PHS is not responsible for fluctuations in currency exchange rates related to those transactions.

If you have to cancel for any reason, including illness or injury, you will be subject to the following policies: DAILY PACKAGES: For any booking, $500 per seat is non-refundable from the time confirmed. Once within one week (7 days) of guest arrival, package fees are 100% non-refundable in the case of guest cancellation. EXCLUSIVE and MULTI-DAY PACKAGES: For any booking, $500 per seat, per day, is non-refundable from the time confirmed. Once within four weeks of guest arrival, package fees are 100% non-refundable in the case of guest cancellation. These policies will be applied strictly – We strongly recommend travel insurance to protect you from loss should unforeseen circumstances force you to cancel your heli-ski booking. Medical evacuation costs, if required, are the responsibility of the skier/boarder.

NO FLY DAYS: If poor weather on your heli-ski day prohibits safe flight, we will first attempt to reschedule your reservation to an alternate day in your holiday. If this is not possible, all guests will receive a full refund. Refunds are processed in the same method as original payment.

PARTIALLY SKIED DAYS: Rarely, we are forced to cut the day short due to deteriorating weather conditions or other variables. Partially completed packages are charged according to the following guidelines: By taking off in the helicopter and leaving the base, a minimum charge of $500 plus tax per person will apply. Runs completed (if short of promised package) are charged at $100 plus tax per person per run over and above the $500 flight charge. EXAMPLE: A guest booked on the 5-run package could only complete 2 runs due to weather. The guest will be charged $500 + $100 + $100 plus tax. Guests will receive a refund for the remainder of their fees. Partial refunds are processed in the same method as original payment.

EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY / ASSUMPTION OF RISKS Safety is our prime concern. Our guides and pilots do their best to keep their guests from exposure to potential hazards. However, risks associated with heli-skiing cannot be entirely eliminated. Guests must acknowledge this fact and are required to sign a release of liability / acceptance of risks agreement in the morning prior to heli-skiing
