In response to the current border closures and travel restrictions, Skeena Cat Skiing will NOT be operating for the 2021 ski season however we are taking bookings for the 2022 season.

Day Cat Skiing

Skeena Cat Skiing in Northern BC Canada offer day skiing, pending availability. You can either join a group or charter your own cat for a day.  

Day skiers meet at the Suskwa Lodge between 7:30 and 7:45 am. Waivers are signed before departing for the ski area at 8 a.m. Guests must bring a lunch and water.

The day package includes group transfers to the staging area from the meeting point at Suskwa Lodge, use of a transceiver, and guiding (max 1 guide to 6 guests).

If you would like your own private cat adventure you can book the cat out for the day for you and up to 11 friends.

Daily Schedule

Day skiers meet at the Suskwa Lodge between 7:30 and 7:45 am.

Skeena Cat Skiing provides transport from the lodge to the ski area, transceivers, 3 guest packs with probes and shovels and a transceiver use and safety lesson.

Lodging

Lodging in nearby Smithers is very affordable and it mostly consists of motor hotels (motels) located on the main highway.

Prestige Hudson Bay Lodge is a lovely Smithers hotel with spacious rooms and a restaurant and sports bar with very reasonably priced food.

Aspen Inn is a reasonably simple motel and some rooms have a little kitchenette. The restaurant onsite is nice, and the adjacent Riverhouse lounge bar has some pretty cool décor.

SKEENA CAT SKIING INC. ALL-INCLUSIVE PACKAGE TERMS AND CONDITIONS Updated July 8, 2020 in response to current travel restrictions

GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS


All-inclusive packages include hotel pick up (3 pm on the day before first ski date) and delivery back to the Smithers Airport or hotel after skiing on the last ski day, all meals, snacks and non-alcoholic beverages, lodging at the Backcountry Base Camp, full days of cat skiing, one guide for every 6 guests, use of a transceiver and a transceiver lesson (on first ski date), emergency medical and evacuation insurance. Packages do NOT include equipment rental, alcoholic beverages, transfers outside of the scheduled pick up and delivery times, travel and cancellation insurance, taxes. In the event of circumstances beyond the control of Skeena Cat Skiing Inc., at the Backcountry Base Camp, Skeena Cat Skiing Inc. reserves the right to cancel a ski day or days as per Paragraph below Cancellation by Skeena Cat Skiing Inc. Transfers outside the scheduled pick up and delivery times are not allowed. In the event, that a transfer outside the scheduled times is required, the guest will pay all associated costs.

RESERVATION OF SKI DATES


To secure a reservation, each guest must fill out the online Registration form. Once the deposit of 10% of the full package price is received by Skeena Cat Skiing Inc. your trip is booked! Deposits must be paid by credit card. By paying the 10% deposit, you authorize Skeena Cat Skiing to charge to the same credit card, if less than 90 days before your ski dates, 15% of the full package price upon notice that travel between your country (and/or state) and/or Canada/British Columbia has resumed without quarantine restrictions before departure and/or upon arrival and the remaining balance of 75% of the full package price 90 days before your first ski date. If less than 90 days before your ski dates, the balance payable will be charged to your credit card, if travel between your country (and/or state) and/or Canada/British Columbia has resumed without quarantine restrictions before departure and/or upon arrival. The 10% reservation deposit is non-refundable. In the event that travel restrictions between your country (and/or state) have not resumed without quarantine restrictions before departure and/or upon arrival, Skeena Cat Skiing will issue a credit voucher to the guest(s) for the exact amount of the reservation deposit paid. Credit vouchers are valid for 2 years and will expire 2 years after the issue date.

RELEASE OF LIABILITY


Every guest is required to sign a Release of Liability form before skiing commences. A SAMPLE form can be downloaded here. Skeena Cat Skiing Inc. strongly suggests that you read and understand the Release of Liability before you arrive for your cat skiing trip.

CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS


Ski packages are for specific dates and are fully transferrable to another person(s). There are no refunds, either total or partial for any unused services.

Cancellation by guest: If a guest cancels prior to 90 days before the ski date, the deposit amount will be retained by Skeena Cat Skiing Inc. If a guest cancels within 90 days of the ski date, the full amount paid will be retained by Skeena Cat Skiing Inc. Cancellation by Skeena Cat Skiing Inc.: Skeena Cat Skiing Inc. reserves the right to cancel any cat ski package at its’ discretion. In this event, all deposits and payments for the affected ski dates will be forwarded to a later ski date, within 2 years of the affected ski dates and as mutually agreed upon by the guest(s) and Skeena Cat Skiing Inc.

TRAVEL AND CANCELLATION INSURANCE
