The Adventure Desk at the Grand Summit Hotel (435-615-8042) can assist with information and booking for various activities including snowshoeing, dogsled rides, cross-country skiing, hot air ballooning, snowmobiling and tours of Salt Lake City.
Ski Tours and Activities
Opportunities for
UA heli skiing are limited, but the Park City Powder Cats offer the chance for heliskiing as well as cat skiing at the nearby Thousand Peaks Ranch.
Cross country skiing is available with White Pine Touring, The Homestead Resort and Soldier Hollow.
Family Activities
There are plenty of kid friendly
Park City activities regardless of whether you are looking for some quality adults-only time, or all-inclusive family entertainment. Activities include ice skating, sleigh rides, and sledding.
Gorgoza Park is only a 5 minute drive from The Canyons where there is snow tubing. Don’t be fooled that this is a kids-only activity. Adults will also get a great giggle out of this. The park also has mini-snowmobile rides, but these probably are just for kids.
Similarly there are plenty of activities at the
Utah Olympic Park to entertain both adults and children including tubing, zip-lining, and museum tours. This place is definitely worthy of a visit for at least a half day.
Adventure Activities
Adventure seekers will find plenty of activities in Park City, but the ultimate adventure activity is bob sledding at the
Utah Olympic Park.
The thrill of careening around in a snowmobile is on offer with seven different operators. And if you can bring yourself to wake up early, sunrise hot air balloon rides are a beautiful way to see Park City. Many of the activity operators provide a complimentary shuttle service.
Relaxation and Day Spas
For rest, relaxation and rejuvenation, there are two day spas at The Canyons. The day spa at the Grand Summit Resort Hotel has services such as massages, facials, wraps, manicures and pedicures. The price of treatments is very reasonable, so you can achieve the desired outcome without breaking the bank.
The large Papillon Spa at the Westgate Park City Resort offers salon and spa treatments and steamroom, sauna and whirlpool facilities. These facilities can also be enjoyed by guests not booking a spa or salon treatment.
Events
The Canyons have a lively
event calendar that includes activities for families, ski and snowboard competitions, and spring festivities such as the ridiculous pond skimming adventures.
