Sundance Resort has good facilities for a ski or snowboard vacation.
Eating On Mountain
Three on-mountain eateries exist at the
Sundance Ski Resort for the starving powderhound.
For a healthy delicious lunch, head to the Sundance Deli in the main village building. It does some of the best sandwiches and wraps we have tasted in the entire USA. The deli also has soups, salads, smoothies, and half decent tea and coffee.
At the top of the resort is the wonderfully situated Bearclaw’s Cabin. With 360o views to the Provo Valley and around the surrounding ranges, it’s a beautiful spot to soak up some sun on a blue sky day. Fare includes basic soup, sandwich, snacks and drinks. It does get very busy inside the cabin between 11am and 1pm and on bad weather days (bad weather = good snow days). There are tables and benches outside the cabin which have the best views in the house!
Close to the base of Ray’s lift is Creekside which serves similar basic food like the Bearclaw. It does basic breakfast items, and at lunch it proffers gourmet selections like pizza, hot dogs, soup chilli, pulled pork and a few sandwiches – all of which are good for the task of refuelling skiers’ spent bodies, but are not good otherwise.
The Foundry Grill (opposite the Deli), also does lunch in a more formal restaurant setting.
Facilities for Children
Children are well catered for at Sundance. There’s a nanny service (Guardian Angel Babysitting) available to all guests, but reservations are absolutely required. Ski School also caters for any kids beyond babysitting age.
When it is all said and done though, leave the kids at home with their grandparents and enjoy the Sundance experience without them. What else are grandparents for? You’ll thank me later I’m sure!!
Ski School
If you need it, it’s there. Professionally run and catering to all levels, the ski school base is a couple of yurts near the base of Ray’s lift.
Equipment Rental
All gear requirements can be met at the on mountain Sundance Mountain Outfitters. Located just near the ticket office it stocks are the skis, gear and brands you would expect at a quality ski resort.
