Where is the Red Moose Lodge?
The Red Moose Lodge is located a short distance from the shopping area in the small town of Eden in the Upper Ogden Valley. It is within walking distance to shops and restaurants.
Rooms
The rooms are huge, nicely decorated and have very comfortable king size beds. Room selection is either a single king room, or a honeymoon suite. You obviously don’t have to be on your honeymoon to enjoy the extra comforts of a suite.
On a powder morning don’t worry about setting an alarm if your room is on the car park side of the lodge. The snow clearer will get you out of bed bright and early, and the rooms can be a little noisy depending on your neighbours.
All rooms have a fridge, microwave, kettle and Wi Fi access. Rates during standard winter season are as low US$100/night and include a continental breakfast.
Facilities
The first thing that grabs your attention at the Red Moose Lodge is the reception and lounge area with the massive tree trunk as a centre piece. The lounge includes leather sofas, fireplace, big screen TV and a pool table (located on a mezzanine level).
Other on site facilities include a small gym, outdoor spa (very niiiice) and Wi Fi to all rooms. It has a separate outdoor pool and outdoor hot tub, but they appear to be unavailable during winter due to too much snow!
Guests can also book massages and other therapies at the Red Moose Lodge’s Day Spa.
The Lodge has the Powder Mountain shuttle bus come through the every morning.
There are no laundry facilities in the Lodge, however the local supermarket does run a laundry service in case your ski socks are getting really pongy.
Dining
There is no restaurant as such at the Red Moose Lodge. A buffet style continental breakfast is provided as part of the room tariff. The breakfast provided (cereals, pastries, toast, yoghurt, fruit etc) is of the very sweet American kind, which may be too sweet for your tastebuds, but it will certainly fuel you for the morning’s skiing.
